I play on superstar (or allstar if I'm having an off night) and I always find a way to give up about 2+ goals, it happens.

I find there is a guaranteed goal no matter the difficulty, but on superstar the defense plays it much smarter, making it hard to do.

I typically play RW or C in BAP, so I'm used to playing the puck on the right side of the ice, but it works mirrored for the LW.

Take the puck up near the boards on the right side, skate to the redline and cut back in front of the goalie, most of the time, the goalie will just dive and you have an easy topshelf goal (come in on right, shoot topshelf to the right).

Problem is the defense on allstar and below will often stay put with one guy on each side of the goalie, forcing you to the outside, which is exactly where you want to be, once you hit the red line, the defense will attack you and then you cut in front of the net, often without the defensemen even attempting to touch you.

On Superstar, the defense will actually pursue you along the boards and often take away your chance of cutting in front of the net. They might let you take it to the redline, but then your on an island with no one to pass to. OH NOES!

Basically, I try to avoid playing like this, but often I find the computer pushes you to the outside, and the only chance I have is to try to cut in front of the net.

I also have succeeded on the wraparound about 2 times in about 5 months.

One goal I find hilarious is when I played LW, I could bring the puck into the zone and fire off a slapshot from the blueline and I could score on that like crazy.

Harts - Carts - Lups
Upshall - Roenick - Giroux

So after my initial tirade regarding this game I decided that I'd give it a little more time. I've playing a couple games most every day. It's not nearly as bad as I declared. In fact once I got the hang of it, it's pretty damn good. I use the Flyers. I've run my regular season record to 41-1-0-1. The Senators gave me a 3-2 loss in regulation and Montreal gave me an overtime loss. I basically kept the offense intact with exception of calling up Giroux and adding myself #7.

#7 - Richards - Knuble
Gagne - Carter - Lupul
Hartnell - Briere - Giroux
Cote - Metropolit - Upshall

The defense is where I made changes. Gone are the likes of Jones,Vaananen, Kukkonen, and Alberts.Instead my defense now looks like this.

Coburn
Timonen

Phanuef
Carle

Bowmeester
Parent

That grouping seems to work quite well overall. All six are in the running for the Norris Trophy.

I Just wished they made an EHM for a console or something. They have an MLB sim, but I love EHM's deep rosters. Simming through NHL 09 is like a sin against nature compared to that.

Not like I set out out to have that sort of gawdy record. More or less wanted to win some games. No sense starting all over at mid-season.

Do you have NHL EHM 07? Could me and you get a game going in there. I have never done it and I have always wanted to.
