I really wish someone put up a youtube video of Schenn comming down from the point and setting up Stajan from the Pittsburgh game. I think I was more impressed with that display of offensive instinct than his hit/fight. We know Schenn will be punishing players for years to come, but that was a fantastic flash of offensive talent and poise on his part. That goal was completely Schenns doing and it blew me away. I've never seen Foote/Komi/Regehr/Mitchell do that.
Foote was a PPG player in juniors, Regehr also had 32 points in WHL, Mitchell was a near PPG in NCAA. As a life long Avs fan, you guys would be VERY lucky, if Schenn turns out as good as Foote in his prime.
Oh it wasnt a knock at those guys - not at all - I was more commenting on how he took the puck from the point down behind the net to setup a play, which I have not seen those defensive studs do before. He may not have any offense in the future and Id be thrilled still that hes on the Leafs, I just believe that his offensive skills are understated more times than not from his lack of confidence in the past to try anything.
He still has a muffin for a shot though, but Im sure that will come along with time, Wilson said hes usually the last guy off the ice after practises, asking for advice from the vets on improving.
