I've never seen Foote/Komi/Regehr/Mitchell do that.

It's not really a rumour, Burke just mentioned in an interview that he'd been offered a top five pick. He turned it down obviously.

Not really a rumor, Burke said it. But what would be the point of trading him for a top 5 pick after just getting him as a top 5 pick.

Doesn't make sense for the Leafs to ever do this trade unless it's guaranteed to be the #1 pick.

Schenn has already shown what he can do, whereas that top 5 pick will be a good prospect but unproven.

Like Burke said, it would be pointless to trade a top 5 pick last year for another top 5 pick, especially with the Leafs already pegged in for a top 10 pick this year.

Oh it wasnt a knock at those guys - not at all - I was more commenting on how he took the puck from the point down behind the net to setup a play, which I have not seen those defensive studs do before. He may not have any offense in the future and Id be thrilled still that hes on the Leafs, I just believe that his offensive skills are understated more times than not from his lack of confidence in the past to try anything.

He still has a muffin for a shot though, but Im sure that will come along with time, Wilson said hes usually the last guy off the ice after practises, asking for advice from the vets on improving.

The habs fan part isn't true. Last month they had a thread on Schenn on their boards and most of them were very positive about him.

I have seen a couple of sens fans claim the Leafs flubbed the pick, but that's already been discussed in this thread. I don't think the majority shared his sentiments.

Hell, there are Leafs fans still crying over the fact we didn't get Filatov so it's not like we're that much better.

Schenn is a great piece to start rebuilding on, i am worried about the goalie situation at Toronto... how is Pogge ? Cause Toskala isn't great this season and Joseph is old...

Leafs need another Felix Potvin, a dominating goalie who can steal games by himself.

If Pogge doesnt pan out, the Leafs will probably resort to free agency or trade when they are ready to contend.

As a sens/habs fan, I would say it is fair to consider Schenn a flubbed pick. As many as 25 players from the first round will in all likelihood be considered better players when all is said and done.

Leafs would without a doubt be insulting their fan base if they trade Schenn. This kid is a stud.

Agreed 100%. I would not be surprised if Schenn was out of the NHL and pumping gas back in Saskatoon at this time next year.
