spend a little more and get a dolomite, around $140 i believe. but if you can't go over the $99 budget, then you can look for a pro stock rbk 7k or something similar. hockeymonkey would be a good place to start. i wouldn't buy a stick from a major sporting store (ie. sports check, sport mart, walmart, etc...) because their lack of selection when it comes to flex, lie, and models.

Sherwood 5030 composite. Got mine a month ago and love it. Coffey 5.5 curve. $80 or $90. It's the one with the decal on it that makes it look like a woodie.

If you have a 100 dollar budget, go to you local hockey shop and ask, "what sticks are on clearance?"

If the store is smart and has a selection, the Warrior Kronik, Dolomite, MacDaddy, the Easton SE Elite, the Bauer one90, Vapor XXX, the RBK 7K, O-Stick, and the CCM V10 should be on sale if they still have any.

If you can find any of those sticks they should be at cost or less than cost if such hockey store knows anything. All of the sticks I just mentioned are either out of production or they will be no longer making them starting in the 09 season, and they've probably already stopped making them for refill orders this season.

Top sticks of those I recommend are Kronik, SE Elite, RBK 7K. I would pay 120 if you can find them for that cheap. For the rest you be right around 100 or so.

I wouldn't buy a price point stick, rather an older stick that has been marked on clearance.

Ask the store if they have any of last year's top-of-the-line discontinued sticks.

If not, you're better off getting a shaft and blade combo or just a wood stick.

you can probably get a good shaft on clearance then just get any blade you want.
