That would be absolutely horrible considering we play Philly 5 more times. The Flyers are more cap-screwed than we are so I would be shocked if they pulled it off, but he would fit in perfectly there.

I have no idea how much truth there is, but my first reaction is...I think I'm going to hurl, honestly. That thought is sickening.

That's like Spider-man jettisoning the symbiote suit, only to allow Eddie Brock to become Venom.

Except that was cool.

Avery going to Filthy would be atrocious for us. It would be a MAJOR problem for us. And it would turn the already biggest *******s around into even bigger ones. Their fans are intolerable as it is! They are my most hated team. I would not enjoy that scenario.

their cap is Effed in the A as cartman would say AND they still didn't even deal with the briere situation.

At this point who cares where Avery goes anymore, he won't be nearly effective as a player now than he was a year ago. I do hope he gets his career back on track.

Who remembers Sean Avery? Isn't he the guy that Aaron Voros replaced.

Did he now? Let's not kid ourselves. Sean Avery is a heck of a lot more of a hockey player than Aaron Voros. Better skater, alot better agitator, better hands, better awareness, well, better at pretty much everything, including getting in trouble unfortunately.

Voros is basically Hollweg's replacement imo.

Seriously. If there's one thing that would make my day, it would be a for a division rival to be saddled with this sideshow AND his albatross contract.

Yeah, would they be getting the Avery that was effective in his role on Broadway, or the Avery that almost single-handedly shredded the lockerroom in Dallas? I could see Sean moving in on Philly to pull some covert operations for us, actually.

Not even, at least Hollweg was fun to watch and when he took a dumb penalty it was because he rammed someone's face into the boards. Voros takes penalties that are the result of laziness. Both had zero NHL talent, although at least Voros has a slight chance of scoring a goal every now and then.

This would be awesome. It's like injecting a virus into their team.

How could the Flyers sign him? Doesn't he have a contract?

Where's this rumor coming from anyway? Don't threads like these usually require a link?

I thought part of his anger management was that he couldn't play the remainder of the season?

I don't know where I heard that though, so don't take it as the gospel.

If Avery gets bought out then signs there, or re-negotiates(not sure how it works in the NHL as far as re-negotiation goes, especially mid-season) to move I see no reason Philly couldn't work it out. I also don't care. When he played us as a Star I felt like he was more of a motivation factor than a pest. The Rangers know better than anyone how Avery can change a game and we've also seen how (thanks Sabres) to make him a complete non-factor.
