Let's see how he's improved his game. This should be a very good test if he does play.

Ross had something like 8 or 9 points in the AHL All Star Game...I'd say he deserves a callup.

Quick and dirty. Spoof of the various 'pew pew pew' images.

The thread title made me think the Bruins called someone up and I was really confused about why it was on this board.

edit: well now that some mod merged the two I look like an idiot...

Thanks QTDO (still love that name!).

I'm a big Parent fan - and if he never hits the scoresheet, he's still a very valuable player.

Ive noticed there is a lot of Parent fans here. I dont expect him to score that much. He is what we need. Id rather let him play and develop and pass on making huge trades that wont get us anywhere. I say develop, and win a Cup the way the Phils won the world series, lol.

I'd guess anyone who saw him play in the OHL is a huge fan. His composure with the puck, his skating, and his smarts are at a level most teams can only dream of having in their system. I've been psyched to see him play here since the day the trade was announced. And my feelings are about 1/10 what Dig's are. Parent killed my OHL team during his tenure; he played for Dig's team.

Im glad im not from Canada, I watch OHL games with no real purpose other than watching hockey, and looking at young players. Its cool to pick a random young guy and follow their careers. I remember wtaching one game and Parent just stuck out at me. I was like "hes gonna be good" then we got him and I was stoked. I hope he isnt traded. I think in a few years the Flyers have a legit team with the young talent we have (Carter, Richards, Giroux, JvR Parent Sbisa Coburn), all wed need is the young stud at goalie. I dont want to give any of that up for a high priced player that most likely wont lead us anywhere special, because thats how it always works out for us. lol.

Heres to Ryan Parent being a BEAST!

Note my Avy: Parent hitting Crosby

He's a smart player so he sees the ice well and the open pass. He lacks a booming shot from the point and that's what people look for when considering offensive ability on the blue line. He tends to play it safe and will drop out of the offensive zone to prevent potential odd man rushes rather than dropping down low to try and hold a puck in or get off a rebound shot so he's not going to score as many points as he potentially could. Jones plays pretty much the exact opposite, he'll take the risk of giving up the odd man rush against to get a shot on goal on a rebound. If Parent played like Jones he could score just like Jones does. Personally, I like Parent playing more defensively responsible.

Again, he's a smart player who sees the ice well. It's something that really can't be taught, you either have it or you don't and Parent has "IT". I like this kid.
