J.Johnson and Moulson/Purcell for Staal? Atleast Crosby gets his buddy to play with. LA gets a solid 2nd line center.

Honestly, You'd have to START with probably Schenn, Antropov, and the 1st in 09 to get the Pens to not hang up laughing.... Even at this, they still hang up.

This is a good foundation for a deal.

I don't mind this. I think it would have potential to blossom into something bigger though.

If you don't want Orpik, Ducks will take him.

Why would the Pens want another centre?

As it stands they have 2 franchise centre, and then Staal as spare parts... they need wingers, not centres

Maybe something around Kubina, Staal, and a salary dump? I also like Goligoski.

Just ponder Pens team needs and salary cap situation for a second. Then come back to this foundation for a proposal and see how ridiculous it sounds

Unlike most fans I don't want the Rangers to trade Pete Purcha but how about:

and knowing that Pitts wants him:

Purcha(1.6 cap hit)
for
K.Letang(835.00 cap hit)

Would help the P.P and what Ranger fan doesn't think we need an offensive D-Man plus we gain a little cap space.

Gonchar would fetch a good price from many playoffs clubs, were he actually available. That said, Pittsburgh still stands a good chance of righting the ship and making the playoffs. None of Buffalo, Florida or Carolina is a world beater right now, and Pittsburgh only has to outplay two of them. Two of the four make it to the postseason.

A snowball has a better chance in hell.

From a Pens sandpoint, economically trading him makes a ton of sense, but doesn't when speaking of leadership, chemistry, and just overall what he brings to the team.

How many cups has that won them in the past 40 years? I'd much rather see my team put a decent team on the ice (whilst being stable off it) than dressing what the Leafs call an "NHL team" and post massive profits.

Hockey fans cheer for the wins, not the dollars.
