Man I am going to have so much fun tonight. I know a trillion Boston fans who think Jones is the anti-Christ.

I might get murdered in a bar though, so if that happens, good-bye to all, it's been great!

Not my original stance.....

but I feel a whole lot better with Nitty between the pipes this year. He's outplayed Marty and although I'm beginning to have doubts that either guy is a true number one, Nitty is going to wrestle that starters job away the way he predicted he would last year. Again...I was a Biron booster but JXC is right here, there is no comparison in the way these two guys are playing right now. I haven't forgotten the playoffs last year either...it's a new season.

*sigh*

Unless he's talking about the actual trophy - the one his captain slam dunked?

Would anybody really waste their money on a Randy Jones jersey?

If me and my buddies see a fellow flyer fan in a Randy Jones jersey we are going to stone him.

Except for JXC. Sometimes love is blind so i understand.

If they tell you to look at the standings, make sure they know the last time the Bruins won a playoff series.

I got enough other reasons to stone JXC, but that belongs in a different forum.

Lol I was thinking the same thing. It's worth it just to see the look on their face.

I just watched the game clips, Coburn was abused so bad on the Bruins third goal. the worst part is he made no attempt to recover. How far that guy has fallen, it's beyond explanation. I wonder if last years playoff injury has broken his confidence

Atlanta practice today:
  • Ilya Kovalchuk missed practice because his wife was having a baby.
  • Marty Reasoner has the flu.
  • Colby Armstrong is injured.

Did those combinations play together today? I missed the game unfortunately

Hextall was a franchise goalie for exactly one season, his first. After that he was like any other good to very good goalie in the league.

i don't think the injury broke his confidence. physically, coburn is fine, though he might've been a little under the weather today. he just tries to do too much. as it's been said many times here, when coburn and timonen play together, he looks awesome. he's still gaining experience. i'm pretty sure that he'll get back to his 'old' self. when that is, i don't know.

Look at what I said in the GDT after the Flyers lost the first game against Boston:

"The next game is a must win. Our players have to show that they are committed to winning. I think it will truly show what our team is made of and it's capabilities. I'm predicting a win for sure."

haha I knew after the first loss against Boston, they would win the next game.

I'm sure it has something to do with me buying a Coburn jersey for this season.

I agree. Nitty gives us a much better chance of winning the way they are playing right now. Hopefully Biron can get his head on straight

Was just watching the highlights again, and Metro's reaction is priceless when he scored. Hopefully there'll be more to come.

If he could actually finish all the chances he gets he wouldn't be bashed on this board.

Not everything is as cut and dry as you'd like to believe. Your argument would be valid if players never mature, and never improve.

He can't be worse than Biron as a starter this season. Either trade assets to bring in somebody legitimate, which nobody here seems willing to do (save for a few), or we have to deal with it.
Exactly, I mean, we have the two records to compare and it is not close as to who has been the better goalie this year. That Biron backstopped the team into the finals should not afford Biron carte blanche: he has been sloppy this year and the team basically must score 4 goals to secure a victory when he plays.
