I think he probably had to dig pretty deep to just lace 'em up today. That was a terrible play on Boston's thrid goal and NHL players just don't do things like that unless they are ailing.

As for doing too much, Stevens' ethic is clearly that players should strive to do what their potential promises even if they cannot regularly pull it off. That's how Knuble got onto the PK unit, after all. It made no sense at first. Now it does.

Devils down 3-0 to the Kings. Patrick O'Sullivan scores on a penalty shot.

I was on my way to Manchester, and I was listening to the game today and when Jones scored that goal the Bruins radio crew acted like they wanted to punch them selves when Jones scored that fluky goal in OT to win the game.
They were like how'd ya like that he gets booed the whole game every time he touched the puck and he scores a goal like that to win the game. Their reaction was priceless

the total reverse happened to me today. I thought the Flyers would lose, and UNH would smoke Maine.

Vancouver leads Chicago 3-0. The Vancouver fill-in radio analyst is a player, I think. The PxP man read a name for a PP promo "Carol..." then the analyst interrupted and said "What does she win?" The PxP man (Shorthouse) said two tickets. The analyst said "Oh, I will throw in $200, two tickets and a kiss if they score..."

They did. He said "Carol, I have a kiss coming your way, I hope you are cute."

I assume Carol is female.

That's awesome! I'd love to know who that was.

Wait 'til he finds out that Carol is a 74 year old woman.

Upon further review: Definitely not a player.

I think he is in the entertainment business.

Michael Buble? He's a HUGE Canucks fan and hockey fan in general. He did an interview at the WJC last year.

I may be brilliant. The guys on CBC just made reference to him, so I'm guessing it is him.

Yes -- thank you crappy Sens. They beat Buffalo tonight, so the Flyers jumped ahead of them.

It's Buble. I'm watching the game on tv and they showed him in the booth. He's going to be on After Hours as well, he's a huge hockey fan and I believe he's part owner in the Vancouver Giants.

BTW, Mike Richards said he's feeling better on Facebook. Let's hope he's so much better that he can play tomorrow.

You are correct. I heard the last name but was unsure of the spelling. It is now 6-3 with Chicago on the PP.

Buble just bought a minority ownership stake in the Giants. He's born and raised in the Vancouver suburb of Coquitlam.

He's an awesome guy...he came to work onetime to sing songs to his neice's preschool class. My co-workers were so embarrasing that day....

It has to be fake. All of the pictures can be found on the internet and his current profile picture has a NHL watermark all over it.

Just a random quote from after the game...

The Bruins' David Krejci (ex-Gatineau Olympiques' line-mate) said of Claude Giroux "Really skilled. I knew he was going to be a good player. He's a good guy, too."

Funny. The Boston announcers were trying to slay him like he was Downie.

Claude Julien said this on the penalties:

http://www.southcoasttoday.com/apps/...0369/-1/SPORTS
Quote:

Saturday's game was mired by a 7-3 power-play advantage for the Flyers. The visitors held a 6-1 edge in PPs through two periods, the first of which the Bruins stole a 3-1 lead and the second in which Philly battled back to tie.

"That's fatigue," said Julien of the Bruins penalties. "There's no doubt that certainly most of the calls that were made tonight were the right calls. Maybe the too-many-men-on-the-ice was a little suspect, extremely suspect, but other than that I think we deserved those penalties. Some of that is due to fatigue. When you start hooking and taking those kind of penalties, certainly it's a sign that you have some tired players, at least for us anyway."
