thanks for the link ... what a great scene ... richard asking the crowd to stop ... he was a gentlemen up to the very end ...

best player in NHL history. what he confronted on a day to day basis in order to force his way in the nhl , the cultural fight , the fact that he still needed another job ... its just beyond this world.

That video loses its value, once the players pull away in their Porsches. Too bad pro sports isn't an incentive based salary system, then you'd see these bozos playing with a little more heart.

This is what being a Canadiens is all about...

When you look at the crowd you wonder though... did it happen in 1996, or in 1986???

I'm pretty sure Saku must be driving something nicer than a Porsche. If you look up the definition of "Heart" you'd find Koivu. His ovation upon returning from cancer was about 1-2 minutes shorter than Richards. Does that lose value as well because he may drive a ferrari?

Koivu = heart. Lol classic though.... people will always associate money with being heartless, having no values, etc.. You're a businessman who made money? "T'es un crosseur"... You're an athlete or artist who made money? "T'es un vendu"...

You can't blame the athletes for making money, it's simply based on offer and demand. Would you rather have NHL owners make 50M a year because they pay their players 100K each? Would that make more sense? Most guys out there, no matter where they are from, play for the love of the game... those who don't, well they simply don't last. Daigle didn't last, Yashin didn't last, etc. You think Sakic, Modano, Lidstrom, all those guys still play because they need money? You think Tim Thomas tried harder and harder every year, for 8 years, to make it, simply to be rich? Nah, thoses guys play because they love the game... Making money is just a perk (and a very nice one I might add).

Thanks for enlightening me, considering I praise Koivu at almost every chance. Next time try taking out your frustration on someone who dislikes Koivu, not me.

My statement is at pro athletes, in general, thats just common sense though.

Haven't seen the clip yet. Is it about learning how to dive like the Flames and Canes?
