Yeah seeing as making them skate like hell worked so well yesterday, what is he thinking trying something else?

No need to practice when your breakout is solid and you're shutting down the opposition.

They've been holding televised practices for a while now. I wonder when they'll play a game. It's been getting boring without real hockey. Stupid all star break.

Realistically, what do you guys think is the reason?

Trade?

Giving the guys a break to refocus?

They are probably out all together. Usually on long road trips, its the ideal occasion to build team spirit, when players don't have another choice then be together.

I think everyone on the team needs to look at themselves in the mirror and ask whether or not they are truly giving 100%

That would be my guess. I've never heard of a whole practice being canceled due to an up coming trade.

Carbo's post-game comments last night did not mention lack of effort (for once) at all.

He was talking about how it's ok to play hockey afraid to lose, but it isn't to play hockey afraid to play hockey.

Take that for what you will, go see him say it for yourself on TSN if you want but in my humble opinion, he wants to refocus the guys towards a common goal.

So in short form, my opinion is reason #2.
