Get away from the media circus I bet. Good idea. They're together on the road, allow them to re-focus without having to answer to the media for one day. I like it.

It's obvious that skill and practice can't fix anything now. It's time for the team to see a Sports Psychologist.. Maybe that's where they are now

Maybe the coaches are trying to send a message since the one in the room doesn't work, you guys don't care then neither do we.We'll see how they perform tomorrow

I'm really hoping that he benches Kovalev, but I'm sure it's just to get their minds off of hockey for a few hours.

After last night's game... I thought it was curious Carbo didn't comment much the game... well, at least, not telling much atfer such a mediocre performance.

Then, we heard there was a meeting of players after the game. I guess Carbo told them to fix their own problems...

And he would be right to do that. He can't do anything else with so many lazy players... the leaders of the team have to stand up and show to lazy players their attitude is not accepted. Carbo can't bench 15 players and Gainey won't trade 15 players too. It's an attitude problem with the players.

And that's what he's showing again today. Practicing is not going to fix the problem. The players have to fix their own problems.

pretty sure our PP needs to be fixed. and defensive play/breakouts. and building of line chemistry with the lines we've had the past couple of games. but ya...let's give them a day off after a disgusting performance.

well practice sure isn't going to hurt.
the old saying goes practice makes perfect.... not taking a day off and going to a movie makes perfect.

Carbo should be playing the role of coach right now... not trying to be their best friend... they don't want to work in games they should sure as hell work in practice... anyone who's played the game at a decent level knows the way you practice is the way you play.

A day off in some hotel in Edmonton is punishment enough. Geeeesh I hope none of them has a gambling problem and spends all his money in the loby slot machines.

So... has Bob moved?

I sincerely doubt Carbo is that kind of coach. He's not a technical coach. I'm honestly starting to think he tells his players "work harder" and then goes back into his office and leaves them to fend for themselves. Watching the team...There is no semblence of a system whatsoever. Every single player seems to do things differently and there's no consistency. Not with breakouts, not with carrying the puck, not with anything.

so some people want them to skate off their issues? it wouldn't work. there seems to be this sort of problem happen every year except last season, sadly. There's something rotten at the core of this team.

HD technology is the single worst thing to happen to Machabée's carreer.

She used to be okay but she's creeping the hell out of me in HD.

Does this team really need or deserve a day off from practice?

Only thing I can think is they don't want to risk injury of possible trade bait players, other than that this team really needs to work on PP, PK and even strength play...so pretty much everything needs to be addressed.

In other news, Montréal Canadiens coach was arrested today for going on a massive killing spree.

A few Canadiens players and fans were unfortunately killed in Carbonneau's blood lust. An eye witness had this to say.

"That mutha****er is crazy."

It was believe Carbonneau started his shooting rampage during a meeting today when he canceled practice. As the players fled for their lives and managed to make it outside, that's when Guy start targetting passer-bys yelling "There's Kovalev and there's Kovalev"

More at 6, back to you, Jim.

so, you think the players have to be shown the way to play a "system" ? what kind of system are you expecting ?

we don't even have the players to player to play a defensive system... so we can forget it. the best offensive system is to let the players use their damn creativity. they played hockey their entire lives i'm sure they know how to score goals by know. not a mediocre system where a player is forced to execute a play just to make rush we remove all their creativity. btw, have you ever wondered why there's no forwards coach in the league ?

the coach, carbo, has done an excellent job. when players makes mistakes, you can often see him on tv giving advices to players to make sure this mistake won't happen again. and that's the best way to teach offense.
