something might actually be up, Gagnon explained that the bus was waiting in front of the hotel but never left, meaning this was a last minute decision!

Kovalev was taken into a room and beaten up by his teammates!
beats making anger fueled posts on here (i mean, you're lucky if chris higgins brother reads what we have to say)...might as well show the actual TEAM your frustration in PERSON!

I doubt it is a trade thought. No reason not to have the rest of the team work on the system. Given that it is Carbo that is to explain why the practice was cancel, I'M guessing that it was cancel following the players demand to have a team meeting, a video scession or something of the sort.

Gainey and Carbo were caught cutting the brake lines!
so, you think the players have to be shown the way to play a "system" ? what kind of system are you expecting ?
we don't even have the players to player to play a defensive system... so we can forget it. the best offensive system is to let the players use their damn creativity. they played hockey their entire lives i'm sure they know how to score goals by know. not a mediocre system where a player is forced to execute a play just to make rush we remove all their creativity. btw, have you ever wondered why there's no forwards coach in the league ?
the coach, carbo, has done an excellent job. when players makes mistakes, you can often see him on tv giving advices to players to make sure this mistake won't happen again. and that's the best way to teach offense.
by your logic, teams don't need coaches because they already know how to play hockey.
a coach is there to install the best possible system and strategies for the talent that is available on the team. scotty bowman used the speed/puck possession strategy because we had a lot of speed, skill and goalscoring ability in the 70s. detroit uses the exact same strategy right now.
carbo's problem is that he thinks he can roll 4 offensive scoring lines (at least up until last week) and everyone will contribute to goalscoring. well, newsflash coach, we don't have 12 goalscorers like the habs of the 70s and 4th line scrubbers like begin and kostopolous can't play 20 minutes a game or their weaknesses will get exposed.
each player on the team has a specific role, whether goalscorer, playmaker, defensive specialist, and it is clear carbo does not understand how to use those roles in the context of a game. this is why our powerplay is messed up, this is why we aren't scoring goals, and this is why our defensive play is weak.
coaches need to constantly work on systems and adjust plays in order to stay competitive in this league, and carbo can go on and on about lack of effort but in the end it is HIS RESPONSIBILITY to motivate his players and make the necessary technical adjustments to make a winning team with the players he's got.
