I will forgive every Habs player (Kovy included) if they managed to beat the Bruins in the playoff.

Habs aren't the fricken Islanders...the Habs can beat any team, on any night.

Even in a playoff series...

Everyone's on Boston's **** right now, and rightfully so, but it's a LONG season...everything has gone right for them this year, doesn't mean it will all year. The Bruins being dominant right now, doesn't mean ****.

The Wings have had even better teams on paper than they did last year, who ended up getting bounced in the 1st round, 2 years ago, the Wings had 124pts in the regular season, with alot of the same names they have now, but they ended up getting bounced in the first round.

gutless pukes? why do you even bother cheering for them then?
The Habs just won't win, they have no balls. They will fold easily in the playoffs.

Just because I don't like the way they are built doesn't mean I don't love them. I've been a fan for much longer than these pansies have been on the team.

Fair enough...either way, expect to see a drastically different team next year, should be interesting

I hope so. They keep drafting from the US, so things are bound to look up.

I think things can be salvaged this year. A big trade might push the others to start playing as they will know their jobs aren't secure. Who knows what will happen.

No, losing streaks let you see which players will be able to step up when it counts, i.e. the playoffs. Based on what I've seen this year and in the playoffs last year, this team has no grit or heart, two elements that you need for anything other then a quick playoff exit. There are teams more desperate to make the playoffs that will part with drafted players that are not yet in the NHL in an attempt to get there. Guys that are skilled but soft can be protected in the line-up of a tough team like Calgary, on Montreal they have no insulation. If we can get tougher and stronger with more players better built for playoff hockey, I am willing to take a step back. This team is more then a move away from having a shot in the playoffs, so why not deal players who will not play a role in either developing the young players or be a part of the team when the key pieces reach their peak which is probably 2-3 years away. if we can get the types of players we need at a time GM's are notorious for overpaying even for mediocre players, I see no reason not to.

Flyers had 65pts when they lost 10 in a row in February. They recovered and made it all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Franzen was a revelation for Detroit last year. He was on fire at the end of the season and brought it into the POs.
As for Datsyuk and Zetterberg, I guess you don't remember what people were saying about their PO potential.
Same thing for Hossa and Alfredsson.

They were highly criticized, just like Joe Thornton will be until he brings the SJ to the cup.

I'm not saying we're as good as Detroit, or that we have a team to win the cup. I'm just saying, if people were saying these great players were bad in PO..it can be the same with us.
Right now, we're playing badly, so it's kind of easy to call them a gutless bunch.

No one will know how the Canadiens will fare until the end of the season.
