I had relatives flying into Buffalo from Guatemala tonight.

And the wonders of google map. Nice looking house too.

Yeah, it happened right around Veteran's Day. Crashed 5 minutes from my Aunt's and Grandfather's houses. This one crashed about 10 minutes from my Roommates house. Crazy...

Thoughts and prayers going out to everyone.

I have relatives who live on Maple st. which is just off Long st... Thank god they're alright, but I feel bad for those on the flight, my thought to everyone on board, and those who live in this particular house.

No matter how many times you see it, it never really gets easier.

We lost more than 300 people because of airplane crashes (2 major, 1 minor) here in Brazil just in the 2007-08 span. I lost 3 of my biggest friends because of that, and can't help but feel bad everytime I see something like that.

All my best thoughts for those who are going to a better place, and all of their relatives...

My prayers and condolences go out to the families of the unfortunate and unlucky departed. The Globe and Mail is reporting that thankfully it appears to have only hit one house, and while the mother and daughter were thankfully out of the house, the father is still unaccounted for.

Apparently the Pilot of the Flight was a female and that their was no mayday or anything from the flight. They have audio from air traffic with the flight.. did a final check for approach.. everything was a go for landing.... final clearance made "have a safe landing"... response was given then.... nothing.

no mark for a landing was made and the flight dropped from radar.... then concerned calls to the flight going un answered. A Delta flight was asked for any sightings... Delta responded that they saw nothing.. the a "call the calvary" announcement from the air traffic of possible downed plane.

Why would the Cleveland Control Tower be directing the flight in for a landing?

Also, some stories are coming out about the passengers on the plane.

One lady on the plane was a widow of someone who died in the September 11th tragedy. She was going to go visit her husband's family and celebrate his 58th birthday.

Also, a 23 year old woman was flying into Buffalo for a college hockey alumni weekend.

It is just so sad to hear these kind of stories. May everyone involved rest in peace.

Consolidation my friend. Cleveland handles Air Traffic control for a lot of the regional airports.

The brother interview was hard to watch.

I work at Suburban. When I got home from bowling, I called and checked to see if I was needed. They were still in the process of a "code orange". I work in the lab so it wasn't likely that I would be needed unless there was a mass cal situtation. Once I heard "no survivors", I kinda knew that I wasn't going in. It's so sad

Considering there were no communications immediately prior to the crash or a mayday while the aircraft was in trouble; whatever happened to that Bombardier must have happened fast and it must have been really bad.

Would have been at FL 2000 so only a couple seconds from the ground if the aircraft engages in a steep dive...

Very weird.

Austrian Media reports say that Thomas Vanek's house is only about 3/4 a mile away from the crash site.

A lot of Sabres and former Sabres live in that General area. Clarence and East Amherst are fairly affluent districts in Buffalo Metro Area.
