I wasn't overly clear on that part so I apologize. I see what you are saying as well, but will add one more thing....the best defense is a good offense. You can always find a good stay at home D-man, the exceptionally offensive ones are hard to find.

Completly true, not one team in the league wouldn't make room for a guy like him, he would be the first d-men on 90% of the teams. Again i'm just saying it's deficient compared to Markov, i like Mike Green a lot he must be the most feared d-men in the league, when it comes to goalies.

hopefully he's not so defensively deficient that he is also feared by his own goalie

They are better than the Habs at levels. Saying that Mike Green is real deal is a little too much, he's an incredebile offensive defensemen, but his skating and his 1-on-1 are deficient compared to Markov.
What? Mike Greene's skating is excellent. He's a rushing kind of defender. Not a Souray like pylon.
