One other thing you should know about the Canucks: our PK has been horrible. We've allowed at least one PP goal in like 14 of the past 15 games. A lot of those games were against teams that had PPs ranked in the bottom 5. And it doesn't help that the Canucks tend to take a lot of stupid penalties.

I think this will be a pretty sloppy game, both teams have been doing a lot of travelling this past week.

Canucks will probably win this one.
The only chance of Montreal to win is Halak...but he's playing against Luongo so dont bet your money on Montreal tonight.

Carbonneau says "no change" from last game's line-up - because that worked so well with the 50 shots against and all.

I suppose he doesn't have much options, though I really hated Higgins at center - that line was stuck in the d zone skating around in panic mode much more than the others. Higgins is much more effective on the wing so moving him to C has the double effect of losing a decent forchecking winger and gaining a so-so center. Chipchura can do no worse as a so-so center, and that would free Higgins for the wing.

Anyway, hope the win relieved some pressure and they play a little less tense. That alone could make a huge difference.

Bottom line: Halak has to come up big again though.

no, not as big, because by gametime if carolina loses today, habs even if they lose tonight will still be at least 7 points ahead of the only 2 teams who seem they can still make the playoffs and currently sit tied in 9th place - pittsburgh and carolina.

i think habs just cant wait until this roadtrip ends.

According to rds.ca

Quote:
Dimanche, Guy Carbonneau a révélé qu'il n'y aurait pas de changement dans sa formation. Absent de l'entraînement samedi, Chris Higgins a affirmé qu'il allait être à son poste ce soir.
So that would be:

Kovalev-Koivu-Kostopoulos
Pacioretty-Lapierre-D'Agostini
A.Kostitsyn-Higgins-Dandenault
S.Kostitsyn-Bégin-Laraque

Markov-Komisarek
Hamrlik-Brisebois
Bouillon-Gorges

Halak

His last game was incredible (stopped 46 of 48 shots I think) while Price probably has a save % under 0.85 since coming back from his injury. Winning is more important than having Price play in front of his family and friends.

Because he was rock solid in his last game against Colorado, and Price has stunk it up the last couple of times. Really isn't much of a debate.

Honestly Sundin just didn't want to play in Montreal, plain and simple. The guy vetoed getting traded here at the deadline last year, then wouldn't sign when we got his rights, and then wouldn't sign with us during UFA. Gainey did everything possible to sign the guy so I for one won't blame him for it.

Agreed. If a goalie steals the game, he's starting the next one, regardless of whether it's where the other goalie is from or not. Especially if the other goalie has been terrible for a stretch.

I wonder if the boys will have an extra bit of jump tonight with the game being in Vancouver. Carbo and Kovalev complained yesterday that the high altitude just zapped everyone's energy, that's its not easy when you play there once every 3 years. Well let's see if going from Denver to basically sea level gives anybody an extra push tonight. It'd be ****ing huge to win this game.

I would like to have seen Chipchura dress tonight....especially with Plekanec out. Higgins and Begin aren't true centers.

I made a little something à la Habs425 in the OP, on the fly, so not much humor. I even made Sundin smiling like you always do with your charatcer.

Sexy GDT.
I have no idea what will happen tonight. Could be very good, could be very bad. The Canucks aren't the Avalanche that's for sure.

From walking on streets, Everybody is talking about this game today in vancouver more then usual.

Its going to be fun out there.
You are lucky.. Here, more it goes, less I see flags on the cars, in fact, Ive been making some shopping today and I could count the number of flags I saw with 1 hand.. Very sad season its turning out to be..

I think Carbs knows this game is basically out of reach, so he just wanna see a solid effort from everyone.. The team should look quite differently after this one.. Plekanec will come back in the line-up and Chipchura should have his chance to center our fourth line.. So I like our chances for the last 2 games of this trip..

Kovalev Koivu Paccioretty

Higgins Plekanec A.Kost

S.Kost Lapierre Dags

Laraque\Begin Chipchura Kostopoulos

I REALLY don't understand how this game is out of reach. This is the NHL. Any team can beat any team. If the habs show up to play, they absolutely have a good chance to win.
