I think it says a lot about this team when we are proud to have a 20 goal scorer!

How bad do we look when teams like Atlanta have 2 and another with 18 in Kovalchuk and Little?

When was the last time we've had a legitimate superstar forward?

The fact that the only other team to have a defenseman leading them in scoring is the New York Islanders says alot. Look where they are.

There was something interesting posted on the Canadiens official forum recently:

Quote:
From the Elias Sports Bureau's notes from last night's NHL action.

KOSTITSYN IS MONTREAL'S MR. CLUTCH
Andrei Kostitsyn's goal with 2:16 remaining in the third period broke a 2-2 tie and sent the Canadiens on their way to a 4-2 win at Colorado. Kostitsyn has scored 19 goals this season and 16 of those goals have either given his team a lead (13 times) or tied the score (3 times). The only players with as many go-ahead goals this season as Kostitsyn are Marian Hossa with 15 and Jeff Carter with 14.
His goal tonight didn't do much for the Habs, but those are some pretty sweet stats. If only he could step it up and find some consistency.

Although he's playing like crap by last year's standards, we still glimpses of his superior skillset.

Will he ever get a chance with Koivu again? I mean, Carbo is never hesitant to put him with that dumbass Kovalev, so why won't he do this?

kind of depressing.. like congrats to ak46

but for him to be our first 20 goal scorer this late in the season.. kinda sucks, you know.

20 goals in 53 games playing with a mish mash of Lang/Plekanec/ 3 or 4 games with Koivu... Hardly superstars. No Joe Thorntons, Ryan Getzlafs or Pavel Datsyuks setting him up.

Even in a dissappointing year (Akost, Skost, Plekanec, Higgins, Komisarek... are all having a step-back years after breakout years last year. It happens to everybody) you can't really complain about a 32 goal pace for Andrei.

But I'd love to know his stats when he doesn't play with Kovalev.

It makes too much sense!! Carbo has visions of Andrei - Laraque - Dandy

Like someone said, just by looking at Carbo's utilization of Andrei, he clearly is not a fan of the kid.

Do you read at all?

I said he's having a disappointing year, but will likely be a 30 goal scorer on a team that could potentially have no other 20 goal scorer. Playing with no elite playmakers... his goal total is not something to complain about.

If he doesnt go with Saku, why not try the C-A-T line again.

Then Tanguay-Koivu-D'Agostini would be our 2nd line.

send kovalev to the ECHL.

Send him to a phonebooth. He used to be able to deke his way out but now not so much.

This guy shows up for one game in four and has 20.

Imagine if he played every night.

imagine if carbo knew how to use him

remember back in the day when he was our best player playing with saku for about 7 games in a row....lets give that a shot...i know its tempting to put our best scorer with a 4th line grinder and d-man..but lets try something new

Why would Carbo give his best scorer and best playmaker more than a few games together though??

Them two and D'Ago had something good going a couple months ago, I'm still pissed they haven't been revisited. At all.
