We needed help on D. Even if he is old he should be able to help. It could also be a setup deal for something bigger.

No he wasn't. He has a large contract that wouldn't fit under the cap. Now his contract does fit under the cap.

Great pick-up! I wanted Bob to grab him earlier in the season when he had a chance... should do a nice job of stabilizing our backend... solid veteran leadership... good move for sure!

I'm happy for Hamrlik haha!

But, does it mean that we are done concerning our top 4?

I mean, I don't think it's a long term solution. It's like a band aid for the end of the season.

Interesting move...

You know..yesterday EKlund said that Habs would do a minor deal to make a major deal. Well, the 1st part of his supposition is true...haha! I wonder if something else is behind this trade.

Bad deal in my opinion

There were better cheaper vet options out there!

Those who were expecting a big trade will be dissappointed as this deal eats every cap space we had left.

I'm lucky that I was on the "OMG don't do anything stupid" bandwagon....

Hoping that the return isn't too bad but I'm not so thrilled...

Good move. I think Schneider can still play and help this team.

Wouldn't say Ken Klee, Brad Larsen and Chad Painchaud are exactly free...

Or was he put on waivers and I didn't see it?

Bob gainey showing against he lacks balls by exchanging picks for players. He is too scared to trade any players for better players.

Gainey is getting worst by the minute

Words are that it's for two picks. My guess would be a 2nd and a 5th, or something like that.

Edit: It's for a 2nd and a 3rd.

Edit 2: 1,500 posts!

Solve the PP with a Dman that couldn't put more than 15 points all season long?

I'm sorry but this is ridiculous, whatever the price we paid.

Wow!

The TSN article says you gave up a 2nd and 3rd round pick!

Seems like a drastic overpayment
