DeSerres was drafted with Washington's 3rd.

Call me crazy, but I'd take A. Carle is the only one that can help us win now, but he's overpaid for what he brings to the table which isn't that great, IMO. We only made our cap problems worse by dealing for him.

Admittedly I was a Carlson fangirl so I hated that deal from the moment it was made. I believe he is the exact type of defenseman we need in our system. Of course we also could desperately use a top goalie prospect so missing out on Markstrom stings as well. Downie's taking a while to develop, but I think it would be nice to have another cheap top 9 forward around in the next year or so with the cap issues. The Flyers could also use Downie's grit.

I don't think any of that's crazy. The only thing the team could be potentially missing is Bourdon.

Bourdon was from the Umberger trade. We drafted DeSerres with the pick from the Eminger trade.
