What If

Oilers sign Lindros; resign Nedved and sign Oleg Tverdovski. Who would you take out of the lineup.

Cory Cross. Either that or trade M-A Bergeron.

Reasoner or Horcoff. If Lindros can move to wing, take Laraque out.

Probably Ryan Smyth and Eric Brewer so we could afford the three..

If the Oilers did happen to sign an offensive defenseman (which is highly unlikely), I'd prefer Mironov over Tverdovsky.

I'd probably take Tverdovsky out of the lineup...

what a horrible defenseman.

hmm....Tverdovsky wouldn't make the lineup, we already have Smith, Brewer, Semenov, MAB, Staios, Cross & Ulanov. if we need a d-man we can call up Lynch/Woywitka from the Edmonton RoadRunners. for Lindros i'd have him rotate in & out of the lineup every few games with #27 Georges Laraque.

when there were rumours flying around the Oilers were going to acquire him, when he was holding out in Philly, I was excited, it was pretty cool, but Lindros stated he does not want to play for Edmonton.

but then our 14 forwards would be

Torres
nedved
dvorak

smyth
york
hemsky

moreau
isbister
laraque

horcoff
rita
Pisani

x-tras
reasoner
Lindros

If that happened, my team would look like this:

Smyth - York - Lindros
Torres - Nedved - Dvorak
Moreau - Reasoner - Hemsky
Isbister - Horcoff - Pisani

Brewer - Smith
Tverdovski - Staios
Ulanov - Semenov

Conklin
Markkanen

I guess I'd be taking out Laraque, Rita, Bergeron, and Stoll (who could be switched with Horcoff from time to time).

I'd put Torres with York and Lindros... man, that would be something, provided Eric played well.

I put Smyth ther because of the chemistry he had with Lindros and Nolan in the Olympics, and York because of the chemistry he had with Lindros in NY. That, and Torres played well with Dvo and Nedved last season.

Yeah. My reasoning with Torres there is that you would have one slick playmaking guy in York, a combination of both in Lindros, and a scorer in Torres.

Hmmm, is this a trick question?

I'll say 'the giant white rabbit'.

well--I say--go out ans get Nasland, Iginla, Vinny L from TB, both Niedermyer's, and Chris Pronger

Lindros has already said that he would be looking for the same type of contract that he first signed with the NYR--Incentive laid based upon games played---so if he hits the games played mark like he did in NYR--the oilers would be paying him 7mill a year. Nedved will be at between 3 to 4mill a year and Tverdosky has already made it clear he aint coming back enless he gets 2.5 to 3.5 and a long term deal.

Where do the oilers get this money?

Do all these signings happen after the leprechaun we caught leads us to the pot of gold?
