Its impossible to guess who will go where for what... so i will just guess where i think a player could end up

Anaheim Ducks - Greg de Vries
Boston Bruins - Erik Cole
Buffalo Sabres - Sean O'Donnell, Steven Reinprecht
Calgary Flames - Greg Zanon, Steve Sullivan, Nigel Dawes
Chicago Blackhawks - Radek Bonk
Edmonton Oilers - Manny Fernandez
Florida Panthers - Nik Antropov
Los Angeles Kings - Marian Gaborik, Maxim Afinogenov
Minnesota Wild - Kyle Calder
Montreal Canadiens - Brendan Morrison
New Jersey Devils - Pavel Kubina
Pittsburgh Penguins - Martin Havlat, Cam Barker
San Jose Sharks - Gary Roberts
Tampa Bay Lightning - Tomas Kaberle
Vancouver Canucks - Keith Tkachuk, Derek Morris

keep in mind most have zero logic behind them and others are complete long shots

I will be disappointed with my teams I cheer for, with a bit of rage.

To Calgary: Jay Bouwmeester

To Florida: Matthew Lombardi, Adrian Aucoin and a 2009 2nd Rd pick with the potential of that 2nd Rd Pick changing into a 2009 1st Rd. if Bouwmeester signs with the Flames

Trade Confirmed

To Montreal: D Mathieu Schneider & Conditional Pick

To Atlanta: 2009 2nd Round Pick & 2010 3rd Round Pick

I also included the trade on my initial post where I will post all trades that are confirmed. Unfortunately, Eklund was the only one who called this.

In terms of trade value this season:

Top-4 D-men
Forwards
Goalies

So I expect good D-men to fetch nice picks/prospects. Scrub bottom-6 forwards and backup goalies will be lucky to fetch a 4th.

But in all honesty, I don't expect many top-4 D-men to be moved as once you've traded them away... how do you replace them? Prospects take a long time to develop and the UFA market sucks this year.

Atlanta trades Reasoner, Perrin, Thorburn, Christensen, Havelid and Hedberg for pretty much nothing.

Carolina:
Ray Whitney will be traded for a first round pick. No clue who he'll end up with, but I'm sure the Canes will have plenty of callers if he's put on the block.
Dennis Seidenberg will be moved for a second round pick and another middle round pick. I think likely destinations are New Jersey, Boston and Detroit.
Matt Cullen will return a second round pick. Montreal could be a likely destination with Lang out of action.
Chad LaRose will potentially be moved as well. Not sure what the return will be but players like him typically return more then expected at the deadline. Could be part of a larger deal along with one of the other three. Boston could be potentially interested if Axe is out for any significant length of time.

Leafs trade Kaberle and Antropov. They'll acquire 2 first rounders.
Habs don't do anything else
Pronger to Caps
Connolly to Columbus
Morris to Philly
Jokinen to Oilers

Toronto:

I think the only one just about guaranteed to be out is Nik Antropov.

Whether at the deadline or at the draft we will see one of Kubina or Kaberle moved. It is a lot more likely that it is Kubina.

Veterans with character and leadership qualities like May, Van Ryn, Mayers, and Moore will be staying. Management is trying hard to change the perception of playing for the Leafs as a great retirement option to that of a winner filled with players that want to win and will accept no loss. Some of these guys aren't the most skilled but they work hard consistently.

One of Matt Stajan or Mikhail Grabovski will be moved. There is one spot for second line centre and if you want a two-way playmaking centre that can win more faceoffs for you on the penalty kill you take Stajan, if you want the flashy centre with much greater scoring potential you stick with Grabovski.

I also think one of the Leafs 'top prospects' will be moved. DiDomenico, Tlusty, or Stralman?

So to sum it up:

Antropov
Kaberle / Kubina
Stajan / Grabovski
DiDomenico / Tlusty / Stralman

I've bolded the ones that are most likely to be gone by deadline.

I'm basing this on Burke constantly repeating that he owes it to fans, season ticket holders (note the separation), and ownership to ice a competitive team. I don't take this as a way for him to justify picking up anyone deemed a quick fix but some players already under contract that wouldn't fetch much more than a mid to late round draft pick (like Ponikarovsky) will be staying.

Trade Confirmed

To Ottawa: C Mike Comrie & D Chris Campoli

To Long Island : LW Dean MacAmmond & SJ 1st Round Pick

Just updated the first post of this thread.

It was pretty obvious to many hockey fans that Mike Comrie would not return to the Islanders next season but some credit has to go out to CIsle for commenting on this.
