Kovalev is tired of Carbo. Carbo is not going anywhere. Expect Kovy to be gone soon. (My understanding, not Gainey's..)

Kovy to Pittsburgh E4. Kovalev for Jordan Staal. Let's contact Eklund.

simply put "go home and get your act together or by trade deadline you're gone"

Kovy Story

It's a new reality about a very talented hockey player (kovalev) who's gonna stay home and miss the next two games, watching the habs on TV thinking about his recent weak play. - CKAC

more to come

Youwch.

Samsonov all over again. Who'd've thunk after last season.

I think he may get shipped out. Then again, talks with BG have historically had good results with Kovalev.

Hasn't he been hurt twice on the trip? My money is that it's related to one of those...

Yeah, according to RDS, Gainey asked Kovy to stay home and ''faire le vide''.

I just love what Gainey is doing right now. A trade to help of PP, Skost to Hamilton, and now ask Kovy to stay home.

What Gainey is doing right now is that he wants to evaluate his team and spirit without Kovy. Fresh air..

this probally should have happened last year. (Kovy gone) BUT it got patched up .

This year the old flames fired up again so atleast we will get something for him at the deadline .I hate to lose his talent he will put a top contender over the top in the playoffs but maybe Gainey ships him off to a team out of contention .Then next season will read Kovelev sings with Boston

He's not perfect, as it is hard to be a GM in this league and even tougher in Montreal with the additional variables he has to go up against.

I'd say he's doing what he can with what he has. Does some wise moves and moves that he might regret. But always does it with the right philosophy in mind, and that, I think is the best move in the long run, go with youth, continue to develop them and keep the most important vets while acquiring fill-ins to match certain needs.

i love how BG responds to the media, he never gets angry and you can tell in his tone of voice that Kovys days are finished in Montreal.

Okay then. Let's trade him to Atlanta for a, let' say, a 2nd and a 3rd.

As far as having something at the deadline, well let's hope that what just happened today will not be a black mark but I don't see why it wouldn't be unless it's for a team who desperately needs a winger like the Pens.

It's the Roy-Tremblay saga again without the live TV action....

Not so fast, I'm sure René Rancourt will put up a fight!
