Scott Gomez to Phoenix

What would it take to get Gomez to Phoenix from New York?

Jokinen and Klee?

The idea of

Doan-Gomez-Mueller makes me happy

just a thought...

Probably not that much. You'd have a harder time getting Phoenix to agree to take on his contract.

Re-entry waivers? Or did you miss the news about our financial situation? Gomez makes twice as much as he should. For the next half decade. Not exactly the type of contract our team is looking for, right now.

Nothing. Phoenix can't take gomez's salary. Besides, even a sucking jokinen is putting up similar numbers to gomez. No reason to pay twice as much for gomez.

edit: Not to mention more than 1 year being a sticking point with Morris, gomez has like 7 more years.

Nope didn't miss it but there is still a salary floor, Gomez is owed 29 million over the next four seasons so 7.25 m per and I think if placed with a finisher like Doan his stats would go up. Just a thought.

Posts like these are dumb.

Gomez is about a 5.5M or so player. He's overpaid by about 1.5M or so.

I always hate it when people post dumb **** like that.

I won't dispute he's overpaid, though.

Unfortunately, Jovo is on the books a year too long for my liking.

Gomez for Jovo, no. If you took Redden back then sure, PHX would have to add another dump obviously.

Gomez for whatever else, sure

Just don't need another high priced, overpaid defenseman back when we already have two of them.

He's worth, at most, 5. 60-70 points a season, if even that, doesn't erase the many terrible qualities that come in the Gomez package.

Andy McDonald just signed an extension for 4.7 a season, and I'll swap Gomez for him any day of the week.

He's struggled a lot this year. We all know that.

He was our best offensive player last year outside of the month and a half Jagr actually gave a ****.

Gomez, last year, was well worth the contract, IMO. This year he's been very mediocre. I still think he's hurt or something, as he isn't the same player at all.

gomez, but only becuase then we'd have 3 D men locked up long term. Thats 2 too many spots imo, as we're going to have a decent influx of young D ready to make the jump in the next couple of seasons.

If not for that I'd take Jovo easily.

Redden seems about the same as Jovo... not really interested there... and we really don't have any salary to dump aside from Jovo so maybe this can't happen.

You can have Gomez for free. He shows incredible glimpses of talent but never does anything with it. His turnovers are IRRITATING....
