Kovalev?

With the broken wrist of Richards maybe youd like to add offense with Kovalev. He played weel with Ribeiro in Mtl.

You could have him cheap.

Judging by Gainey's decision today to leave Kovalev behind on the next road trip, it's fair to say he'd be extremely cheap. Then again, he's also the opposite type of player (lazy) the Stars should be going after.

He would have fit with the team on some of their more recent games.

Heh. Yep. That's why I wrote he's the last type of player the Stars "should" go after. It wouldn't surprise me though if the tires are kicked.

I'd love it if Dallas went after Kovalev, as long as our 1st or Neal/Benn weren't involved.

We all saw what lengths some Habs fans went to after the Ribeiro deal to try to make it look like they hadn't been completely ripped off, and to see them try again, should the same lopsided deal + career resurgence occur, would be just great.

And judging from last night's game, he still is.

one game doesn't negate all the amazing games he has had, he is completely different from when he was Mtl

I don't disagree, but he's been pretty damn lazy of late.

He really stood out last night when the pace of the game was as high as it was. He was just floating around, seemingly wanting to save his energy for some sort of busting out that never happened.

Yeah, except for making the play that led to the tying goal....

Kovalev is the Russian Modano. We don't need more than one.

Id take him if he was really cheap to get. I think hes a player that really wants a change in scenery and he'll start playing better if he gets it. We have lots of cap room and hes a free agent at the end of the season. I think we really need some more offense with richards out now and he could give it to us.

+1

If he doesn't do well, then at worst he's the bad version of Modano.

If he does do well, then at best he's the good version of Modano.

I can live with that.
