Cole and Leopold are two players that aren't too intimidating anymore.
Cole's best days are behind him, he'll look good in Boston though with that supporting cast. As for Leopold he never panned out to be that top 2 Dman he should have been in Calgary. Injuries have really hurt both players.
If they get both Cole and Leopold, they will have one hell of a Cup run.
But it also hurts them for next year. They might become handcuffed with salaries considering Kessel and Krejci are RFAs and both their goalies are UFAs. Now instead of having young talent that can step in incase they lose some valuable assets to stay under the cap, they give them up in a trade for Cole and/or Leopold.
Cole's been playing badly this season so I wouldn't be surprised if he was moved. That being said, EDM would have to get a pretty decent roster player back seeing as they're sitting 6th with just 1pt from 9th seed.
As for Leopold, not quite sure what he'd bring more to an already good Defensive squad. Boston has the best D in the league, so I see them adding some offensive touch more so than a defensive one.
If Eric Cole is available, then Montreal HAS to get him. He is precisely what we need on the wings, specially with the playoffs comming. Sadly, I am sure Lowe doesn't want Kovalev on his roster. He would just not fit.
