ok I'll play... this is what I'd do:

D'Agostini-Koivu-A. Kost
: put this back together already, these guys were awesome before Capt K's injury.
Higgins-Plekanec-Dandenault : Dandenault is playing well and bringing speed and forechecking - might be what Plek needs right now. Higgins back on wing where he's more effective.
Kostopoulos-Lapierre-Pacioretty : creates a line that approximates the Kost-Lap-Lats line that had so much success a few months ago.
Stewart-Chipchura-Begin : 4th line, who cares really - but I take out Laraque for Stewart to bring team speed up a little. Chipchura at center to free Begin to the wing where he's more effective.

I'd like to see those practice D pairings given a try.

Laraque-Chipchura-Dandenault

+Greg Stewart might be in against Washington.

Defense still :

Markov-Schneider
Hamrlik-Komisarek
Bouillon-Gorges

I don't know if moving Komisarek away from Markov is a good idea or if Schneider can play on the first pair. Lets hope it works! It might even reduce Komisarek's value, which is good

I wish they would just take Laraque out of the lineup. Hes a waste of space.

WOE that's a competitive and talented NHL team. I guess all GM in the league are drooling over a lineup like that. Hardwork combined with talent, youth and leadership. Stanley Cup here we come! Pleks and dandenault combo plus the soft hands of Higgins not to mention the creativity and vision of begin and Chips together on the ice....

Yeah well, that's what this team's come down to.

To me the weakest links are Pleks & Dandenault. 4th line wouldn't be a concern if only Carbonneau would limit their ice time more.

Tanguay's return will definitely help. I liked Lats before he was hurt.

Teams needs a move to replace Kovalev though (unless he does return, but my expectations are low as to whether he can really contribute much).

Funny how these guys' stock went down so much in the last month though... economic meltdown indeed.

according to RDS...the lines tonight will be

Higgins-Koivu-D'Agostini
A.Kostitsyn-Plekanec-Pacioretty
Stewart-Lapierre-Kostpoulous
Dandenault-Chipchura-Laraque

Markov-Schneider
Hamrlik-Komisarek
Bouillon-Gorges

- I hope RDS just has the sides mixed up and Carbo actually has A.Kostitsyn on RW, if last game's goal vs. Vancouver didn't clue him into Kostitsyn ability on RW, then I don't know what will.

- I love that 3rd line line

Andrei should always be on the right wing....thats his natural position and he is most comfortable on that side. Another good reason to always us him on the right side is to also keep him from being on the same line as Kovalev. They may have done well last year together....but we can't hold Andrei back any longer. He will be the teams top RW soon enough....let him play there from now on.

If we don't make anymore trades and we get guys back from injuries...these are the lines I would use.

Tanguay - Koivu - A.Kostitsyn
Higgins - Lang - Kovalev
Patches - Plekanec - Dags
Begin - Lapierre - Laraque
Ex: Kostopoulos, Stewart

Markov - Schneider
Hamrlik - Komisarek
Boullion - Gorges
Ex: Dandenault

- I wouldn't call Sergei back up at all this season unless he lights it up in Hamilton. He needs to get his head right and get some confidence back.
- Brisebois would be waived as soon as he plays his 1000th game. We don't need him around at all with all the defencemen we have.
- Andrei K needs to play the RW and be away from Kovalev. They play a similar game and when they are on the same line, neither of them are at their best.

Would you swear under oath that you're not EK posting under an alternative board name? If you're someone else, and you're actually posting from Vancouver, you must be her doppelganger. Hmm, a Laval-Vancouver axis?

Shneider and Markov should not be paired together as they are both puck moving
defensemen with offensive flare. I'd like to see Markov - Komisarek as Markov has all the
tools except size and Komisarek has (on some nights) no tools except size.
Shneider and Hamrlik would be an awesome 2nd pair.

What's telling is that he's jumped in several times in the past to defend her absurdities.

But in fact Van-Hab has been one of most historically bi-polar members here, long before the recent arrival of said Mrs.

lol
bi-polar? I stick by my players all the time. I liked both SKost and Kovy last year when they were producing and I am not dumping on them this year. I hated Brisebois since the Zednik incident I hate him today!
Before you post crap check your facts.
I despise bandwagoners.

"my players"?

That atttitude speaks volumes of how this board works lately. Picking your favorites and hatemongering toward other players at the expense of supporting the team. You're in good company with EK.

what are you talking about?
Of course I have my favorite players. I have my favorite players in hockey, soccer, my favorite singers, actors. I don't have to like certain ones because that is the popular choice (those are the bandwagoners) or all because they are all playing for the same team.

Higgins Koivu Kostitsyn
Pacioretty Plekanec D'Agostini
Stewart Lapierre Kostopoulos
Bégin Chipchura Laraque

Markov Komisarek
Hamrlik Gorges
Schneider Dandenault

Price
Halak

Either way you slice it, Washington is gonna kill us.

I admit I defended her many times. She is one of the few girls we have here. I always do that. Also can't stand Internet bullies.

Schneider and Markov paired together is stupid. Wouldn't we want to spread the puck movers around? Not horde both on one defensive pairing?

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/feature/?id=11009

Forwards:
Higgins - Koivu - D'Agostini
A. Kostitsyn - Plekanec - Pacioretty
Stewart - Lapierre - Kostopoulos
Dandenault - Chipchura - Laraque

Defence:
Markov - Schneider
Hamrlik - Komisarek
Bouillon - Gorges

Goaltender:
Price

Oh how far we've fallen. Earlier this year, I was saying deal Higgins because we have way too many NHL calibre players.

Now?

1st Line: A decent second unit... maybe, with an AHLer on it.
2nd Line: A good player, a hugely struggling player... an an AHLer.
3rd Line: A fourth line.
4th Line: An AHLer, a defenseman and a goon.

Oh dear.

This is 2.0 of Carbo's philosophy of coaching. First he tried spreading his fourth line over all four lines, now he's trying to spread the AHLers over all four lines.
