Jiri Tlusty

Just wanted to see what people think of him, in terms of value and potential.

This is trade rumors and FA talk. There is no rumor about Tlusty and he is not a FA therefore this question is really dumb.

You are just begging people to insult more of Toronto players which of course will be done

As far as potential i think the same as i did the day we drafted him, he can become a solid allround 2nd liner. Exceptional at nothing but without any weakness.

[Obligatory post about Tlusty's pictures, worded as a witty comment]

I doubt he becomes anything special, but should be at least a solid 2nd liner.

Tlusty had 5 goals tonight against Syracuse in a 8-5 win

That's 15 pts in his last 5 games, and 46 pts in 44 games on the season as a 20 year old.

Personally, I really like Tlusty. If TO wants to unload him, I'd hope that the Blues would express interest.

After an 8 game scoreless drought in the AHL Tlusty woke up and ever since then has been a PPG player..Now his stats in the AHL stand as 18 g 23 a 41p +9, also notable that hes a +9. Burke is doing what he did to Bobby Ryan

Exactly ... I mean don't get me wrong, Bobby Ryan's skill-set is light years away from Jiri Tlusty, but the plan is similar. Why exactly did we need to rush him into the NHL at 19 years old? Did we ever think he was going to be that much of a difference maker? Give him this year and maybe another year or two to fine tune his game, he can play the odd game, but bottom line is don't rush him.

Value-wise, I think he falls is with Schenn, Grabs, and Mitchell as one of our untouchables. This kid has skills and with the right development he should definitely be a top-6 forward.

Hasn't looked that impressive with his brief stints with the Leafs, but he may finally be gaining more confidence in the AHL. Potential to be a solid second liner but I don't think his ceiling extends beyond that. A red chip prospect, not a blue one.

a player like tlusty has no trade value at the deadline, not to a playoff team anyway. he is a #1 who hasn't shown much in the NHL and not much in the AHL - tonight's 5 goals notwithstanding.

he's got talent, no doubt. Probably the most skilled forward on the Leafs, currently.

But, at this point, he's just another #1 pick that may or not make it in the NHL. He needs to be a 1st or 2nd line 20+ goal scorer to be on an NHL roster, he's not close to that as of yet.

In the off-season, you'd probably land a similar prospect in return, not much more than that.
