Re-read my post dude. I said "on the right side". Streit is playing on the left side this year with the Isles, which is his natural side. PLaying in Montreal, he would still be on the right side, because Markov and Hammer are already on the left side, and quite probably, he would still look like he did last year, because some Dmen aren'T able to adequately play on the opposite side and Streit seems to be one of those, its just a shame there wasn't any place for him on the left side in Montreal.
So what we needed was someone who could do all the same things as Streit, but with the added quality of being able to play great defensively on the right side, which Schneider is very good at.
