We get another first round draft pick! Garth Snow is THE MAN.

This team is going to be disgusting in a few years.
In all fairness its SJ's first round pick, which is almost a 2nd round pick lol. Still, Comrie and Mcammond are both UFA's. So really its a very late 1st for campoli.

Um.. Campoli has been in the NHL for 4 years now and hasn't progressed past a number 4 defenseman, at best. He is making the same bad decisions he has made since he broke into this league. It's a very good trade.. especially since we just got another first rounder.

We are rebuilding, rebuilding teams start identifying the needs of a team. Campoli has had more chances than I can stomach to become more than just an above average defenseman.

Maybe this means the Islanders are targeting at Komisarek this offseason?

LOVE IT.

Comrie is a ****ing dog, loser. Enjoy that Ottawa, maybe his coasting ass will learn to develop a work ethic again.

I don't get this one at all from the Islanders perspective. They are giving up Comrie and Campoli for a 1st and an impending UFA. Sure, Comrie is an impending UFA too, but he should get more than McAmmond coming back. And Campoli seemed like a good young defenseman the few times I saw him. Has his stock fallen that low?

Not a bad deal for Ottawa. I guess they think they can still make a run at the playoffs.

SJ's pick is basically a 2nd anyways and McAmmond is deadwood.

If true, how likely is it the Senators flip Comrie to another team at the deadline?

Its Ottawa, the only team more arrogant and 'we're better then everyone else' then detroit. They could be dead last and still think they will get in...

Playoff or not, is Campoli for SJ's 1st a good deal? McAmmond add no value to the Sens at this point.

Ottawa is out to lunch if they trade their #1 pick. That is just stupid. Returning the favor to the Islanders for trading them Chara

Campoli is a RFA , Comrie is a UFA ...and Macammond is a UFA, so basically NYI got a first round pick in exchange for Campoli's RFA status

Not very... I don't think they could get more than they gave for him.

The real question is, will Comrie re-sign in Ottawa?

Why are people believing this? There's nothing substantiating this. If this was as close as the OP says, one of the talking heads in the media would know. I call BS on this

Edit: I was wrong, apologies to the OP

Comrie might not even see Ottawa. My bet is he's being flipped to CLB or one of those other rumoured teams that wanted him in a package ... maybe Leclaire or someone coming back with a better 1st.....
