Northeastern-BU played an absolutely epic game tonight. I don't know if Stonehands was at Agganis, but the crowd was just crazy. Awesome, awesome game.
Didn't know NEU were such divers though. Donovan must have gotten wrecked about 8 times and dived 5 other times besides that.
There's the link confirming the suspension. I can't find the official release (teams usually have it on their website, but London hasn't updated theirs yet).

Thank you!
Yogan looked 3/4 open once he recieved the puck, but that's definately a hit from behind.
Just browsing the link, what the hell did DeLory do to deserve a 12 gamer?
Holy crapwhistle, that's nasty. I can't believe knowing the way Branch is, he didn't give him more. That's disgusting. As if the slash wasn't enough...the shot to the head afterwards tops it all off.
The Lethbridge Hurricanes epicly fail after coughing up a 3-1 lead losing the second game in the home-and-home with the Medicine Hat Tigers 3-8 :/
At least it's probably not Luca Sbiba's fault. He had a goal and an assist, and he had a fight (sorry, dunno who won).
What killed Hurricanes was the penalty kill as the Tigers scored 5 times in 9 PP situations. A pretty rough game actually with 11 fights and a total of 138 PIM.
"It seems like every time Sislo and van Riemsdyk are on the shorthand, they score a goal," defenseman Kevin Kapstad said after the Wildcats' 3-2 win on Friday night. "Maybe we should play shorthanded more often." Kapstad was being facetious.
Probably.
Sislo and van Riemsdyk, after all, have combined for five shorthanded goals this season. That includes van Riemdsyk's first-period breakaway on Friday -- set up, of course, by Sislo.
The highly touted van Riemsdyk, drafted second overall in the NHL draft two years ago, has always been expected to make that sort of impact. But Sislo didn't score his first career goal until the 24th game of his freshman season. He then finished the year with three goals -- all at even strength, since he didn't have much of a chance to play on the power play or on the penalty kill.
probably has something to do with JVR not averaging 3 points a game on a very average UNH team.
Speaking of UNH, I wouldnt mind if the Flyers took a look at Mike Sislo late in the 09 draft. hes small but he knows what to do with the puck when he gets it.
JVR has a fairly languid style, similar to Carter in that regard. So they both produce results, but they're not very physical for their size.
I mean, most of this fanbase wanted to trade Carter last year for absolutely no reason even though he was our best ES threat.
JVR is in for the same treatment unless he comes out of the gate and scores 40 goals.
I don't know about languid, but JVR is certainly not a power forward, so if Flyers fans are expecting him to throw his body around with the gusto of a Milan Lucic, then yes they'll be disappointed. No one gets a pass in Philly, so if he doesn't show at least some promise of why he was the #2 pick, then yes, he'll hear about it fairly quickly. He's not scoring 40 goals right away, but maybe after seeing how Carter has finally blossomed into what he is, JVR will get a bit more leeway. Even if he doesn't get that, I don't see anyone hating him now, or any time in the near future, unless he's a complete bust, which I don't see happening.
no one gets any leeway or a free pass in Philly.
I mean look at Jeff Carter right now, he doesnt score a goal in a handfull of games and people are getting on him.
Wonder what people would think of Turris was in Philly getting 16 points in 50 NHL games, being extemely soft and getting sent to the AHL.
That dreaded B word would be be brought out by more then 1 or 2 people on this board.

Yeah, Sislo is awesome. Just a pure goalscorer.
Did you see DeSimone's goal on Friday? That was so sweet.
