i agree with your statement I dont see JVR and 1st for anything but a top 5 goalie and i dont see Montreal trading Komi for other then a huge overpayment or as a part of a bigger deal.
Philly would have to overpay for Komi. Habs can't trade Komi this year because of the 100th year for PR reasons. It would have to be a trade that Gainey can't refuse so that all the fans and media would understand. If its not an overpayment, it will look like the organization is quitting during a landmark year.
he wont be traded. he is not the dman Tampa supposively wants and there arent many players of his mold in the NHL so why trade such an important player.
Im an habs fan and i Understand you interest for Komo but are the flyers should try to trade JVR + 1st + Lupul for a guy like Pronger. With him, Flyers are in the final conference. Im pretty sure.
our management have stated we wont trade youth prospects or picks for older players. if we could get Komi and could sign him we d get atleast 5yrs out of him. Pronger would prolly be gone after his contract and we d be out JVR and the 1st. Lupul or someone will have to be moved this summer anyone for salary cap space.

Montreal has 11 pending UFAs, and they are a train wreck right now. I think it would be in their best interest to not re-build, but to do a small re-tool because they have a lot of good young players. I think Komisarek if signed could bring them a few very good assets to build for the future. Komisarek is the exact type of player the Flyers need, and have a lot of assets that they can trade and replace with young guys in the system. Would a package like...

I'm thinking Bob Gainey would be an idiot not to take that trade.
Stumbling block would be a sign and trade or negotiate a contract with Komisarek.
I'm sure Montreal would keep JVR and then probably flip the 1st from Philly in a package for JBO, Kaberle or Pronger to replace the loss of Komisarek.
JVR and MaxPac would be a building block for power forwards with skill in Montreal.

yeah its a terrible proposal for us flyers fans Lupul and 1st is the max we d send for Komi and it wouldnt be enough for Gainey to except prolly. but that is way more then our GM would ever consider. just a terrible proposal
