Halak for....(Would you do this)

Flyers are rumored to be Offering Van riemsdyk for a goaltender. Would you trade Halak for him?

He's 6'3 205 pounds, could be the star we've never been able to acquire in a draft.

I would...Van Riemsdyk is too much of a good prospect to pass him.

but why would the Flyers trade him??? doesn't make sense. I don't see them giving up on him.

I don't know, gotthe rumor from Dregger.

Maybe because they already have a cluster of good talented forwards, but **** goaltending?

Richards, Carter, Lupul, Briere, Gagner, Upshall, Knuble?

The flyers wouldn't offer him for Halak, they would offer him for an NHL veteran IMO. The Flyer's goaltending problems are not solved with Halak.

I would do it for sure... but the Flyers wouldn't do this!

JVR is a top prospect!

They'd want an improvement over Biron and/or Niitimaki so I doubt they'd want to bring in Halak.

Yeah we'd need a goalie in return (which means we need to add something else). We can't really put more pressure on Price atm.

Halak isn't a proven #1 goalie, yet, and JVR is a top prospect, we'd have to offer alot more than just Halak, so better stick with him...

Not a chance on planet earth the Flyers trade vanRiemsdyk for Halak. None. That is a crazy suggestion.

If anything I'd imagine them shopping Briere not Van o_o

It can't be fun being Halak in a Montreal uniform!!!!!
He has shown spurts of excellence, some clunkers, but mostly consistency.
The team ows its playoff position (shaky at the moment) to the 4 points that Halak "stole" against the Avalanche and earned vs Ottawa (who did outshoot the Habs by a fair margin). The way Price has been playing lately, the Canadiens would presently be out of the playoff standings, without those all important 4 points. halak has a better save % than Carey.
Jaroslav may be worth more in any possible trade if he continues to play like he has.
Who knows, maybe Price can fetch us a missing piece!!!!!!!
Some media pundits project Halak as a number 1 goalie! (Vokoun anyone?)

I would make the trade in a second but can't see Philly doing it. I doubt Halak will have good a career as we think. He looks so short for a butterfly goalie! Can't remember ever seeing butterfly goalie that short be successful.

Since last season I keep considering the possibility in the back of my head that Halak is going to be better than Price, and Price is not going to pan out the way people expected.

Halak won't get you Van Riemsdyk but Price would... Heck, maybe we could even get Biron added to the deal.

LOL ! Bryzgalov was on waivers last year and now you're telling me Halak could get us JVR ? The rumor was for Lehtonen, which is worth like 30 Halaks.

No doubt I would do it. But Philly would be out of their minds to trade Van for Halak...

Halak won't be starting down the streth, or in the playoffs. Price is who they're going to run with. If this is on the table I say do it, and bring in a veteran back up to help Carey.

Just by looking at the current standings, Philadelphia and Montreal arent going to do trades, this year.

I would, but the Flyers wouldn't. If they're offering JVR, it's for an established goaltender, not someone like Halak.
