Not that desperate.

But hey, if you want to take Ryan Whitney by all means.

Higgins is with Koivu and do the job welldone and AK46 is with Plekanec. Ww have to do some place a day or an other. Kovalev have maybe the best value on the market.

Pacioretty and Dagostini are already in the team. I talk about our PROSPECTS: Ben Maxwell , Ryan White . Nothing else after (Trunev too young not ready, Perezhogin is KHL for life I think, Kristo still 3 others year in junior)

We have to think for the the future too not only for this year
Non. Playoffs are different than reg season. Kovalev has proven himself in the postseason, and will be a key player in the playoffs. You cant just jump off the bandwagon when your team goes through a tough stretch. Sure kovalev hasnt had the greatest season, but trading him for youth is not a good trade off.

I cant believe habs fans want to get rid of their top forward (he is your top forward, there is no denying this) just because you guys lose some games.

Watch, hes going to go on a tear. After that, there will be no more value of kovalev threads. Its ridiculous. Hes worth more to the team now than anything he can bring back in a trade

If Gainey doesn't plan on re-signing or doesn't think that kovalev will re-sign than I believe he will be traded. Gainey hates losing UFA's for nothing, especially UFA's who have value. I think most Habs fans are in agreement that unless a major deal is made we don't have a good enough team to win the cup this year. So unless Gainey moves to bring in a 1st line Center, I think we see him pull the trigger on a Kovalev trade to make the team better for next year.
