Why doesn't it make sense? He is being paid too much and has been less than they wanted so if they can get picks/prospects for him why wouldn't they?

That team needs to restock and I don't see Hainsey as a 'must keep' guy.

Given the size and length of his contract, who would trade for him? Who has cap space? I dont think he's going anywhere.

The only players I see possibly going somewhere from ATL are Havelid and Perrin... Everyone else is either under contract or will be an RFA or just isn't good enough get another team interested in aquiring them.

I'm not actually much of a Hainsey supporter, but he is on pace to break the Thrashers all-time record for points in a season by a blueliner set last season by Enstrom. He's also doing it at a cost of $3M cheaper than Brian Campbell and only has 9 fewer points.

First off Garrioch is the only person who has mentioned Hainsey as on the block, and even Spector said he had heard nothing about that rumor yesterday.

I don't think Hainsey has been anything less than the Thrashers expected. He is well on his way to a career best year, already matching his career assist totals with 20 more games left in the season, and appears to be working well with a very young group of defenseman. He was certainly not brought in to be a shutdown defenseman.

Why would the Thrashers shop a guy who wants to be in Atlanta? You really don't find too many guys who want to be here, you know.
