There is another more popular calgary board and that is where the majority of flames fans post at.

Doesn't seem to be as dead this year as in past years. Could just be me though.

At least we aren't like the HF Oilers board where they "trade posters" to other "HF teams". It's like fantasy role playing but way worse.

But to answer your question, I think alot of people read the forums but not too many post...

Because being a true fan is gauged by which message board you post on...

I love this board. CP seems like a clicky highschool group to me.

and you get attacked for giving a non-popular opinion... back when Huselius was popular I said something about how he we should cut ties with him (for the same reasons everyone was happy to see him go)... and I was treated like complete crap and not long after i was given a warning because of something I was mistaken about... haven't really posted since... and i really hate how everything is all jumbled... its hard to follow sometimes... and i agree about the clicky high school group... they rate your intelligence by your number of posts not the merit of what you say... i know i can be an abrasive ass... but i think i do say alot of quality things as well and on a board where it matters more who you are than what you say they just dont care

Calgarypuck seems to be filled with creepy old men with humour I do not care for, but I think it is a great source for news about the Flames... and it certainly has its moments of hilarity. They have a few posters who obsess too much about the Oilers, when I dont even think they are our biggest rival anymore.

The way I like to compare it is that CP is first year uni
and HF is second year
By second year, all the highschool idiots are kicked out for their failing GPA

I think its nice and relaxed on this board but I give credit to c.p for getting info out there pretty quick. They have a lot of reliable sources that post or read that board and I respect that. However game day threads can get kinda whiney! Have no problem with them bashing the oilers or the canucks! Its mostly in good fun and there are alot of interesting fans of opposing teams who do post there. Just my opinion of course.

I agree about people reading more than posting. I'm the same, I read most of what's posted but don't always post myself.
IMO, the Flames board is one of the best on HF, it's pretty easy-going and everyone gets along for the most part.

I am also in the boat of people who tend to read more than post on here.

I go to CP first just because they are so quick to update/break news (like Greentree being called up for one)

Here, it has a more serious attitude.

What is there to talk about with the Flames? The team is consistent (knock on wood) few injuries (knock on wood) and The players are not involved with drug dealers like some teams....(knock on wood)
