Does he play on the 3rd line?

Ryan Getzlaf 20:04
Samuel Pahlsson 18:30
Rob Niedermayer 15:51
Brendan Morrison 13:29

Get educated son, TOI is not everything.

Get educated son, TOI is not everything.
Thus:
Samuel Pahlsson > Patrice Bergeron
Samuel Pahlsson > David Krejci
Samuel Pahlsson > Phil Kessel

Just because 1 team has center depth and the other doesn't really doesn't mean anything here. Boston rolls 3 scoring lines. One could make the case that Bergeron is the 2nd line center with both wingers missing time this year, one is out for the year... he also happened to be Boston's leading goal scorer last year.

Not sure why you threw a fit at the beginning but the latter part of your post is exactly true....which is why TOI does not tell the whole story.

Even when the Ducks had McDonald, Getzlaf, and Pahlsson, Pahlsson got the 2nd most minutes of centers.

Typically, players who have had two serious concussions already are pretty high risk; one more blow to the head could (very unfortunately) be the end of his career. I think if Anaheim is moving Pronger, they want more of a guaranteed return.

Why would Anaheim want Rask? They have Giguere/Hiller through next year at the very least; isn't Rask ready for a role this season / next season? Will he be happy spending all next year in the minors? I wouldn't think so...

I'm guessing you never saw David Krejci's NHL debut? I'm also guessing you have not seen Bergeron in the last 5-6 games. Guy is JUST getting his physical edge back.

Exactly my point. If it took him two years to get his "edge" back, how long will it take the next time he takes a shot to the head? Ducks fans have been through this with Paul Kariya, who never gained that edge back again.

Boston wouldn't give Bergy straight up, yet you seem to think they'd be interested in adding the future captain and a first.... Alrighty then.

Well that's what it's going to take, you have to deal from your position of depth..I suppose ducks could throw in Pahlsson so Boston as a legit shutdown center for the playoffs

Bergeron only retains his high trade value if there is some kind of clause that includes 2 first round picks if for concussion related reasons he is out of the NHL in the next 5 years.

Boston roll three scoring lines, and Bergeron is 2nd on the team in Ice Time. What exactly about that screams 3rd line center to you people?

TOI doesn't indicate anything about whether a player is a second or third line center. Patrick Marleau plays almost 2 WHOLE minutes per game than Joe Thornton, even though they play on the same line.

That said, Bergeron, when healthy is a very good second line center, if not a first line center. I will be interested to see if he ever regains his form from 2-3 years ago, but injuries have killed him in the past two seasons. I just don't know if I would take a chance on him with his concussion history.
