Personally, I'd love his fire and tenacity on this team.

John Stevens is now the 3rd longest tenured coach in the East after Ruff and Carbonneau. He is 11th overall in the NHL.

That's scary. I think that's a sign of closer battles for the playoffs in the "new" NHL though.

Same. He's exactly what they need. They have no personality.

If you guys don't like Biron now though, imagine what Tortorella would do to him. I'd pass on Torts, I'd like a guy with more emotion as well, but I think he might be a little too over the top.

This team doesn't need a fire lit under their butts as much as they need someone to teach them how to play NHL hockey as a team, not as a group of individuals.

We have a lot of strong character guys on this club, get them playing as a unit on the ice and I think guys like Richards, Kimmo, and Hartnell will bring that fire and spread it to the other guys in the room.

I think the same. I still get sad over Brent Sutter.

Thought you guys should participate in this, it can't hurt. I'm hoping to win a retro third jersey.

I guessed at least one flyers defense man will get a penalty, we will win, and the other team will score a goal.

the Flyer/Detroit game on the March 17th is the Versus game.
I am afraid we are going to get run out of the Joe.

That'll be a really good test game. I hope we pass with flying colors.

How many coaches were fired in the East this season? The Leafs, Penguins, Tampa, Florida, New York- anyone else?

I saw an ad for that 2 weeks ago. I'm surprised they're advertising it already.

The Flyers generally play well in those types of games though.

It's about half over, but the NHL Network is showing A Day in the Life with Hartnell. It's hilarious!

They have an excerpt on the Flyers site, but it's pretty cool. So far, Hartnell is talking about the kind of sticks he uses - "I get a few goals with these, and they're good for slashing guys".

They are really hyping this game up. Just saw a commercial now on versus for it. Talking about in order to be the best you have to beat the best. I mean this game is about 3 weeks away. When was the last time you have seen versus promote a game that far away (besides the winter classic)

I can't. It sucks. I liked seeing who else was viewing the thread, but it disappeared the other day and hasn't come back.

That feature was turned off during the Montreal scandal crap, and does get turned off anytime higher than average volumes are expected -- so it's possible they'll stay off until after the trade deadline. As the deadline gets closer, avatars may also be turned off for a day or two.
