Tampa may file tampering charges against the Rangers - Not involving Torts

Bob McKenzie has stated in his Blog that the Lightning maybe filing tampering charges against the Rangers and it doesn't involve Torts, so it must be with conversation with a player.

Anyone suspect it was Vinnie???

http://tsn.ca/blogs/bob_mckenzie/?id...opRelated_main

But in a surprising twist, sources say there may have been other potentially "inappropriate" contact between the Ranger organization and members of the Lightning. The league is investigating and while there has been much discussion between all involved parties, it's not out of the question that the Lightning will file formal tampering charges against the Rangers.

Maybe with a UFA-to-be though they don't have any good ones.

Perhaps it was with Vinny before he signed the extension.

I hate Tampa GM Lawton and their new ownership because they seem to be two faced and liars, funny to see this being brought about and who is involved.

What exactly is the punishment if a team is found to be tampering?

It concerned Tortorella

Quote:
However, the talks may have concerned whether a letter granting the Rangers permission to hire Tortorella was still valid. According to an NHL source, Sather sought permission as far back as last June to hire Tortorella. Written permission was granted by former Lightning general manager Jay Feaster, who was fired a month later.

TB waited until today to complain about the Rangers allegedly "tampering".

Koules should stick to making his lousy movies and Barrie should worry about his land deals.Did they know of the letter's existence? You get the feeling they complained about Tortorella taking another HC position without their permission when Torts already had the permission to take another job. They are now making noise to deflect their own incompentence using TSN.

It could be anything from a fine or a draft pick compensation.

To me that shows the dirtiness and underhanded play that ownership and management has brought in, not to mention they fired a decent coach and then hired a guy linked to the mob for gambling and sports betting.

I hope the NHL fines them instead.

lol Anything to get some extra cash, not surprised, they DO need it after signing Vinny to that monstrous contract!

I heard it was about Tortorella. NRY owes TB compensation.

Now not all the details are out there but pretty much but from what Ive seen comming out of Tampa this season Im calling bull **** because thats exactly how they have ran there franchise, the crap they have been dishonnest about Melrose and Lecavalier/Gainey saga they can't be trusted.

They are running that franchise into the ground, no one is going to want to play for that team if they continue to make a fuss the way they have all season, they say any press is good press not in this case not when your trying to attract tallent and promote success.

Yeah, could have sworn it was MacKenzie, but it seems TSN edited the article.

Apparently Sullivan has a clause that allows him to leave and join Torts if Torts gets a job on another NHL team... That's the root of the issue.
