Not saying it'd be smart to trade him to the Pens of all teams, but it would be wise of Holmgren to trade one of Lupul or Knuble.
In order to be successful in play-off you should have top 3 not 2 lines producing. I do not think you're going to trade Lupul. However, if the return is exceptionally good (read Bowmeester) you may consider doing that.

Time on Ice
Jeff Carter 21:18
Mike Richards 21:43
Simon Gagne 18:52
Scott Hartnell 18:04
Mike Knuble 18:24

Joffrey Lupul 15:43

He's got 3 less points then Knuble (in 3 less games) and 9 less then Hartnell in 3 less games. But both Knuble and Hartnell have played almost 200 more minutes. Knuble has 40 more minutes in the PP. In those 40 more power play minutes Knuble has 4 more points. But in the 200 less even strength minutes Lupul has 2 more points then Knuble. Then consider that there were a handful of games where Steven's had Lupul playing on the 4th line. Take it for what it's worth, but at even strength Lupul statistically is the 5th best forward and when you figure the difference in ice time, he's is better then Knuble.

Bit is he 1.45M better than Knuble? 4.25M - 2.8M = 1.45M
