I'm in when your paypal account is up and running! No one especially a child should go through this. My thoughts and prayers go out to Julka, Mt-Svk and the rest of their family.

Mell, it was nice meeting you at the game Monday. I would have loved to chat with you more, but my son was waiting back in our seats and I didn't feel comfortable leaving him alone.

May God bless you for your efforts. Keep us up with the progress. I smile just thinking of Julka running around in her Third sweater.

I am not donating money, but I have an extra Time Warner/CBJ winter bundle pack (gloves, beanie-type hat, scarf — and the hat and scarf have CBJ logos) and I am going to ship it to Mt-Svk once I get the address. I mean, you've gotta stay warm while wearing the jersey, right?

Hi Mel.

Have you set any kind of deadline on this? (I'm procrastinating...)

Thanks for another bump on this Mell - cbjgirl asks a good question.

Thinking off the top of my head - assuming the jar is getting some contributions - the next few games are on the road. To get some home games and chances to drop cash at the RBar, let's leave it up until the two big games with Boston and Pittsburgh March 10 and 12. Seems like a long time to me but might be good.

Any thoughts?

Question I donated some money but also have 3 Jody Shelley bobble heads as a Crunch player. I will be willing to donate one of them as well. They are autographed as well and will be willing to send one out to you Mell to send out. Let me know via PM or email and we can get that started as well. There is no Certificate of Authenticity but I had them personally signed myself.

Actually....

March 15: Red Wings.

Make that THE CUTOFF date. Because that gives us THREE big games to get lots of $$$ out of it.

I know we don't want to wait until the last minute, so I'm cool with that, but darn it, when one of our own needs help, we need to maximize potential to make sure she's taken care of.

Just a thought and I have no say in this but if there are any funds left over after the planned gifts are purchased why not include what remains for her daughters recovery costs. I'm no expert on healthcare insurance in her country but I'm sure this surgery has costs that are not free.

If I'm wrong then buy the kid some skates!

Skates are a fun idea, but that would raise the actual shipping price a lot, wouldn't it?
