looking through draft picks, it seems there are alot of disputed draft picks based on conditions in the lower rounds. As a guideline, check (http://www.prosportstransactions.com...rades/2009.htm) here for the conditions on your picks, and if there is any doubt about which team owns the pick, or if the condition has yet to be satisfied but still could be, that pick will be treated as untradeable.

for example, the thrashers cannot trade their 3rd, 4th, or 5th round picks this year because one of them belongs to the canadiens (depending on how the habs do in the playoffs).

Carolina

Lineup:

Samsonov(2.533)-Staal(4.5)-Ruutu(2.4)
Whitney(3.55)-Cullen(2.875)-LaRose(.875)
Jokinen(1.875)-Brind`amour(3.6)-Eaves(1.4)
Conboy(.487)-Ryan(.475)-Bayda(.475)
Sutter(1.225)

Corvo(2.625)-Gleason(2.75)
Pitkanen(4)-Seidenberg(1.2)
Babchuk(1)-Wallin(1.725)
Kaberle(2.2)

Ward(2.667)
Leighton(.6)

Injuries: Williams(3.5)-Walker(2.5)

Untouchables: Staal, Sutter, Ward, Ruutu, Pitkanen, Gleason
Not Likely Available: Corvo, Cullen, LaRose, Samsonov, Babchuk
On The Block: Williams, Walker, Brind`amour, Eaves, Kaberle, Wallin

Top Prospects:
1. Zac Boychuk
2. Drayson Bowman
3. Jamie McBain
4. Brett Carson
5. Bryan Rodney
6. Zac Dalpe
7. Chris Terry
8. Casey Borer
9. Mike Murphy
10. Bobby Hughes

Season Plan: Make the playoffs. The Hurricanes would like to move any of the players listen as "on the block." Most importantly, the team is actively looking to acquire one or two top line players to play with Eric Staal. The team would like to acquire one more defenseman, only if Kaberle or Wallin are moved.

5 Year Plan: Get bigger, younger, and more skilled. Remove all dead weight from the team(Brind`amour ect.). The team is looking to build around Eric Staal. Brandon Sutter, Zac Boychuk, Drayson Bowman and Jamie McBain are set to take key places on the roster in the coming years.

WILL STILL TAKE OFFERS ON PLAYERS WITH NO STARS, BUT THEY ARE UNLIKELY TO BE TRADED.

Outlook

After taking over for a franchise that has been run like a videogame, my main objective is to bring some stability to Tampa. Our objective is to regroup and rebuild. We have a couple of outlandish contracts, but nevertheless, they are contracts we can live with. In Tampa, our goal is to win. However, we are also in a market where hockey is not the number one sport, so we also want to build a young, energetic team, ala Pittsburgh and Washington in order to ear revenue. Having said this, notable names like Lecavalier and Stamkos are NOT for trade. However, we are willing to part with proven vets (St. Louis, Recchi, Roberts, etc) in an attempt to receive draft picks/prospects and rebuild. Our main needs are young forwards that can step in straight away. We also want to drastically increase our prospect talent pool in the forwards and defence area. The one area we are stable in for the forseeable future is golatending (with Smith, Ramo, and Helenius). This trade deadline will be eventful for Tampa!

I think I've talked to 9 GMs. I really like where the conversations are going with a couple of them. I think after this deadline Columbus will be set up for a good playoff run with a improved core in the future. Main things I am looking for is two 19-28 year old both a top 4 Off Dman, and a top 6 center. I am also looking for a veteran backup if they are inexpensive.
