Take out Hudler (too cheap) and Hecht (too expensive) and work from there.

I think it's definitely a very exciting offseason possibility. I really don't see Det trading him during the year though.

Hudler=Myers Period. But your the first Buffalo fan ive seen interested in Hudler. Hudler is offer sheet material imo. Hes worth about 2-3M contract.

Brennan= Building block towards hudler/filp/kronwall

If you wanna part with Myers or Stafford we can have some fun with this... (these are players we covet) IMO Kronwall/Filp/Hudler/Franzen/Sammy should be enough to get one of these guys on the table. This isnt really scrub talent this is Stanley cup winning depth talent with upside.

If we sticking to your B listers + heavy picks:

MacArthur/Brennan/Kennedy(not that interested in, as we perfer Abdlekader)

Most of these deals will be offseason deals. We have almost no interest in Butler because he is too NHL ready. The only way we consider Butler is if Kronwall or Lilja are going the other way. As we already have Ericsson moving up next season and not enough spots.

Yea its a good deal. It wont happen till the offseason because Filp is the best player in the deal. But value wise it works great.

Solid Defensive prospect + Cheap bottom 6 forward with some top 6 upside (to replace Filp (banger/energy/shooter type)
for
Solid Top 9 forward (play any position on any line) 2nd line center of a cup winning team and signed to term. Playmaker with trouble finishing

Id like to see MacArthur with Helm on our third line would be really nice

If it is between Franzen + Macarthur + picks/prospects or Filp id trade fil in a heartbeat. We have plenty of Centers on our team and it coul really help our future. We could even have Drapes center the 3rd line if necasary.

We have plenty of centers yes but honestly Franzen and Cleary both are weak second line centers imo. They are much better on the wing. Helm and draper are not second line centers. That leaves Z and Filp. Trading Filp all but assures D & Z on separate lines. I kinda like having them both on the top line. So trading Filp involves spliting D&Z. Keeping him lets us have

DZH on the top line
Filp Hossa and a scrub on the second.

I perfer that.

if it was the Hecht of past years Detroit might of been interested but he has a bloated contract now.
