I think we'll keep Vermette. He's playing real well under Clouston and if he can continue this next year, he'll be awesome for 2.7 million. Quick, great PK-er, awesome on faceoffs. No need to trade him.

Vermette has scorching value right now...both in the trade market and especially on the Sens.

The rest of the players we're gonna need picks or young prospects.

If murray can get some kind of commitment from Comrie in the next seven days (not necessarily a signed contract) he will stay and be signed. If he baulks at a reasonable contract (read what murray wants) he will be traded. As for Vermette he is doing better recently after struggling most of the season. He's always been a streaky player offensively, but you can count on him on PK and to bring speed on the forecheck. Muuray has stated that unless you have a NTC you can be traded so we'l, what the sens look like when the dust settles.

How can you possibly compare the two. Neil is better at everything has more experience and can play on the top three lines.

From a NYR point of view. Hell no. Not with Torts coming in here and ready to unleash Prucha.

i'm an ottawa fan, and i've got to say, the rangers get ripped.

A guy who was a 20 goal scorer in the NHL for two guys that have yet to make it... did i mention they are all the same age? AND the rangers add a 3rd? prucha is off the books this summer for free if the rangers want him to leave.

i'm an ottawa fan as well but the thing is they have put prucha on waivers already this season, correct me if i'm wrong but i'm pretty sure he has, and the rangers have a pretty weak prospect pool outside they're top 3 prospects so this would give them more depth yea i guess the rangers could move the the pick to deeper in the draft but i thought it could work as persuasion

I don't think I would trade only Vermette for that mess.

Ottawa says no. Vermette likely is not going anywhere. Kuba and Neil are likely to move, but only for prospects/picks. Smith will probably go next year at the deadline; he will be kept around as a veteran to train Lee before we call Karelson up to the big show.

I know! He snuck up out of nowhere and it started to click for him.

I think there's a strong chance that Comrie gets re-signed, I personally cannot imagine acquiring him just to re-sign him in the summer.

If the Sens can get a number 2 D-man out of Vermette, I think they do it, but otherwise, it's not a great idea to reward the most consistent and hard working player for the last 25 games by trading him.

prucha has not been on waivers, and the only reason to do this would be if they were planinning on letting him go and needed some players for hartford, but they dont, as they have a number of players coming in from junior and college next year.

If you think the trade is good and your an ottawa fan, its because you're an ottawa fan, not because the trade is good.

Uh what's so interesting in that package? Prucha? Wouldn't take him for a pick.
Kalinin and Roszival aren't young, so i assume you are talking about Nigel freaking Dawes?

Call every GM in the league and i would bet my house that they would say Neil has more value than Stortini...

Prucha has little or no value, same with Kalinin. Roszival is overpriced for what he does and if Ottawa wanted him they would have pursued him over the summer. Dawes is the only player of value in the trade.

Meanwhile:
-Kuba could likely fetch a 1st round pick
-Neil could likely fetch a 2nd round pick
-Smith could potentially get a 3rd-4th round pick if a team doesn't mind his 2009-10 salary
-Vermette is more valuable as a Sen than he is in a trade

Epic fail!
This.
