Clearly this has to be a joke... I live in Gatineau and haven`t seen this anywhere.

Also; They are planning on banning “danse” to “electronica” to “techno” to “rap” to “hip hop” to “hard rock” to “hard rock alternatif,”

How can you ban a form of art/music and anyone who knows anything about Gatineau, knows that Gatineau runs on it's bars. ''Ban'' that music and you're in a heap of trouble.

Also, how the **** can you ban a food? People should be aloud to choose what the **** they eat. If this comes into affect, I will kill to have poutine legal. I will do jail time to free my people!

oh i don't think it's just Québec.. there are left wing nuts everywhere these days.
Even here on Hfboards.

In the Ottawa-Gatineau region, the last few months it seems that the cities are getting their noses into everything in order for no one to be offended by anything.

In ottawa, didn't they just recently pass the motion banning the atheist ads on octranspo buses? Up until recently, i was still seeing Christian ads on those same buses.

Now it's "what you can't eat in arenas", what will it be tomorrow? banning popcorn in movie theaters?

LET PEOPLE CHOOSE what they do with their bodies!

If you don't want the responsibility of that, cut into health care, not into people's freedoms.

Really?? Banning Atheists billboards but allowing Christians?? I mean, is that not the most hypocrital thing EVER!!!

And about left wing nuts... not sure so much this is a left issue, if it was, I think it would be more of my suggestion....

Approach fattie foods and bad stuff like you do ciggarettes...have an extra tax on them, people can choose to purchase those items if they want, but there is a "fatty tax" on it... to raise the price, also generate cash for healthcare for these people with clogged arteries and such...

On a side note.... I love poutine... i try to be a health nut and eat right, but once a month or something there is nothing wrong with indulging, and you cant indulge anymore than fries covered in cheese soaked in gravy...

I think the tax idea is a happy medium for this situation... but don't ban foods, i mean what is this? Nazi Germany

Maybe, but no sports institution or governemental institution should sell unhealty food. Seriously junk food is becoming a huge problem in America - less in Quebec even if we a still among the wrost in the world - something overwhelming that may cause more problems than the retirement of the Baby-boomers. So let them walk two minutes to get their chips or poutine.

so either look at:

1. the health care system
or
2. educating people.

I still say people should be free to eat what they want when they go out for entertainment.

Hospitals i can understand 100%, but arenas? no.

Hey if the kid wants to eat his damn poutine and drink his Pepsi after playing hockey, the parents are going to get him one whether it's in the arena or not.

The whole thing is pointless.

It's not the goverment to decide what people eats and don't.
