My guess is, Janik doesn't clear waivers.

That just because they don't happen after the 2nd period whistle on the last game of the season when you lead by 3 in the game that decides if you get in the playoffs or not.

I can totally see this as a cap clearing move...but I liked Begin. Sure his game wasn't perfect, but I liked his nitty gritty-ness, going in, forechecking....Some of his hits were pretty decent and I always got a laugh out of it. Too bad we didn't trade Tom Kosto or something, now him, his all around game...sucks. hahahaha

Thank you Begin, for what you've done.

I'd bet anything that Rejean Tremblay howls in outrage about the ruthless pogrom aiming to drive all the Quebecers from the team that this is clearly and inarguably demonstrating.
it boiled down to TKO or Begin and we just seen who will be here next season .

Uhhh no. A Stanley Cup winning vet that is fast as hell and plays both forward and defence. He is a valuable asset for a playoff team.

Did we really need 7 ****ing threads? And people here complain about the Montreal media doing whatever it takes to be 1st to break a story. Borders on hypocrisy to be honest. Mods did a good job at keeping things clean though.

Ideally we would have gotten a pick, but all in all I think things work out for the best. Hopefully Begin gets a chance to prove himself and helps Dallas down the stretch run.

Neither will be here next season, along with Bouillon, Dandenault, Brisebois, Schneider, Laraque (hopefully) etc.

With Boullion(1.8) on the injury list and Begin(1.0) habs have cleared almost 3 million in cap space. I think we're going for the promise land this year.

Look for another trade, Gainey won't wait for the deadline IMO because we have a game that night and every game is important, I doubt he wants holes on the team on that day when facing buffalo for a potential loss.

Gainey is going for it.

Send a message via MSN to Jeffrey
Begin was an honest playor and he will definately help dallas more than Janik will help us!

Bad deal ... only positive is the cap saving !

A draft pick would have been way better !

Absolutely hate this trade - Begin was all heart.

Laraque who can barely skate we keep - and refuses to fight unless you sign a contract with him agreeing to the fighter's conduct laws - we keep.

Insane - why Bob, why ?

Like I said earlier, Begin was prolly not even worth a late pick.
