Not wanting Witt on the Caps is a very valid point of view. Citing stats of two recent games is ridiculous.

He doesn't fit, we don't want him.
Which, again is a valid point of view.

Maybe if you took off your long-island tinted glasses you'd know that there were some intelligent posts on here.
Like this: "******* Brendan Witt."

It's hilarious seeing our team's history mocked by a fan of a team who hasn't won a playoff series in 16 years.
I acknowledge my teams' failure over the last quarter century. Loudly and often.

You might be better off lecturing some of your more "intelligent" brethren that winning a single playoff series might be in order before fecklessly talking down any team.

We're letting a couple of bad apples dumb down the conversation.

Simply put: Witt had his run with the Caps, and GMGM would most likely not want to consider re-acquiring him.

That's the more rational intelligent post I'm accustomed to from you, but when Brendan Witt craps on your franchise like he did, I don't for one second blame a Caps fan for saying "**** Brendan Witt." He deserves a lot worse from us.

Want to know why Caps fans are so quick to jump on Witt? Because we were already stuck with him for years. He refused to play hockey for a full year as a hold out, when the money he was demanding was more than we were legally allowed to pay him under the CBA. He went on extended leave of absences repeatedly. We stood by him when his wife got sick, only to watch him turn into the world's biggest wuss on the ice. Brendan Witt hit people when he was younger. He went after people. He was angry. From 2002 on, the only thing he ever did in Washington was glare at people. He was one of the softest players on an incredibly soft and pampered team. He made repeated boneheaded moves that should have been phased out of his game during that year he sat out pouting about a contract. He went from being a young stud defenseman that our GM touted to us a the next Scott Stevens to being a soft, pampered, whiny baby who's only actual method of playing defense was to glare at people.

After the lockout, we tried to resign him. We didn't have any veteran d-men, and we were desperate. He told us he didn't want to play in DC because A. He didn't want to play for a rebuilding team, B. He wanted to live closer to his home in Florida. Then he went and signed with the Islanders.

He doesn't fit, we don't want him, we suffered through his pouting and bellyaching enough. With all this, one has to wonder why cap fans keep starting threads about Witt, or show up in every thread about Witt with proposed deals.

Caps don't want Witt.
Isles don't want to trade Witt to Caps.
There isn't a deal there.

Its a pointless discussion.

Agreed completely, but for the record, this thread was not started by any caps fan.

Trotts has forgotten more about hockey than you even Know, its funny how one lucky lottery pick has made supposed hockey geniuses out of a franchise that only stayed in existence because politicians wanted a team in the local market. its like was said in the past....first in war, first in peace, but last in the American league......if not for winning that lottery youd be where we are now or behind us

Witt should never have the privilege of donning a Caps' sweater again. Never.

Some might not consider that a priviledge.

Yeah... except there are some teams that can't get it right with 5 lottery picks in a row.

Pass.

A very credible source(Botta),has reported that the isles are one of 5 or 6 teams that are sellers.Snow's gotten a lot of calls and interest in Witt has really heated up.

I'd rather see guys like Witt,Guerin,McAmmond dealt.
