I'm going to write up a plan anyway...just to provide some info to other GM's. Unless you don't want us to do this.

Washington wants to:

Make the Eastern Conference finals this year

Become a perennial contender in the east for the cup

Trade prospects and players that will be replaced by better options from recent drafts for immediate help or more draft picks

Looking to clear some cap space to add a high impact powerforward or Centre...or Stud 2 way D-man...preferrably with some edge.

Islanders

Rebuilding mode

Clearly available assets that might gather some intrest:

Guerin
Witt
Martinek
Sim
Hilbert
McAmmond

Less likely to move:

Weight (Likes it here, injured, should be back before the playoffs)
Sutton (Injured, back before the playoffs)
Hunter (Needs to bring back something really nice)
Park (Probably more valuable to the Isles than anyone else)
Streit (Ain't gonna move unless someone overpays, royally)
Schubert (Still at the airport, if someone really, really wants him)

Available picks:
Islanders 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th, SJS 1st, TOR 2nd, BOS 2nd.

For prospects and contracts, check IslesPete39's list in the other game thrad...

Oh, and cap space is also available!!!

Anaheim Ducks - Trade Deadline Plan

Current line-up:

Brendan Morrisson (2.750) - Ryan Getzlaf (5.325) - Corey Perry (5.325)
Bobby Ryan (1.922) - Andrew Ebbett (0.487) - Teemu Selanne (2.625)
Travis Moen (0.912) - Todd Marchant (1.500) - Rob Niedermayer (2.000)
Mike Brown (0.522) - Ryan Carter (0.625) - George Parros (0.550)

Scott Niedermayer (6.750) - Brett Hedican (0.871)
Chris Pronger (6.250) - Ryan Whitney (4.000)
Steve Montador (0.800) - Brett Festerling (0.473)

Jean-Sebastien Giguere (6.000)
Jonas Hiller (1.300)

Scratches: Sheldon Brookbank (0.525), Drew Miller (0.525)

Injured: Francois Beauchemin (1.650), Samuel Pahlsson (1.400), Kent Huskins (0.625), Brad Larsen (0.535)

GM's general mindset heading towards deadline:
We are in playoff contention, but this year's results have proven the gap towards the teams to beat has increased. The organisation is not deep enough in terms of high end prospects to be serious about being a buyer for high-end talent at the deadline. With several core players signed in the long-term this seems like a strong opportunity to quickly rebuild, or better: re-tool this team in some aspects in order to be a more than solid playoff contender for many years.

Core players (don't like the term untouchables, but it would take severe overpayment to consider trading any of the following):
- Ryan Getzlaf, Corey Perry, Bobby Ryan, Teemu Selanne.

Assets in play:
Chris Pronger, Scott Niedermayer (in most scenarios one of the two, depending on a possible first deal and offers for potential 2nd deal...), Jean-Sebastien Giguere, Francois Beauchemin (depending on defensive situation), Brendan Morrisson, Travis Moen, Rob Niedermayer (possibly needed to be involved in a deal including his brother), Todd Marchant

Steve Montador, Samuel Pahlsson, George Parros, Ryan Carter probably have market values that are significantly below their importance to the team.

Top 10 prospects:
1) Mark Mitera(D) 7.5B
2) Jake Gardiner(D) 7.5C
3) Logan MacMillan(LW) 7.0C
4) Brendan Mikkelson(D) 7.0C
5) Matt Beleskey(LW) 7.0C
6) Nicolas Deschamps(C) 7.0C
7) Brian Salcido(D) 7.0C
8) Jean-Philippe Levasseur(G) 7.0F
9) Eric O'Dell(C) 6.5C
10) (to be added)

Draft picks in 2oo9:
1st: Ducks
3rd: Ducks
3rd: Canucks
3rd: Sabres (conditional) *need clarification*
4th: Ducks
5th: Ducks
6th: Ducks

i know this is probably pointless, since he's not moving (at least he shouldnt be unless you are crazy), but alfie's contract is as follows.

4.339 this year, no NTC or NMC

4.875 for 4 more years after that with NMC. Cap hit may be higher, but i'm not sure if the 2.1M the sens paid him to not exercise his out clause counts against the cap. If it does, his hit is around 4.8-4.9M.

If the kings trade sean o'donnell, you get that pick. If they dont, you dont. Should be fairly easy to control in this game: if kings GM trades o'donnell, they have to give you buffalo's 3rd.

Changed.
Thanks for the heads up. The salary I posted was for this season, and i meant to put the NMC by Fisher, just forgot to take it down.
