that is what i figured. Just wasn't 100% sure since everyone is all over the place.

Let the man get 100% recovered from the flu. I think he deserves that much for everything hes done for this team.

I think I can sum it up for people.

The plan was;

Vannanen and Metro waived, Kukonnen to Phantoms. Briere back.

However, Timonen is still sick, we need Kukonnen to stay as the 6th D and that puts us roughly 500k over (Cap issues) if Briere is in.

1) Briere doesn't play, we get Kukonnen to play and call up a phantom for that 12th forward spot. League is investigating or penalizing us why a healthy Briere is on LTIR

2) Briere plays, we send Kuks down and we have 5 D for tonight.

3) We make a trade that shreds at least .500k off the books.

4)Briere plays, Kuks is sent down and Timonen plays 4 minutes and is a -7

It's a game time decision because Homer is working on one of these options.

if kimmo's flu is anything like what i'm having, its nothing to do with toughness. You can tough out an extremity or muscle injury within reason. The flu, if bad enough and if it's causing nausea, just drains the ability to function. it's not a pain thing, it's your body shutting down to fight infection. You can drive a car with a bent fender, but not a blown engine.

Christ I think Kimmo earned the right to rest. The mans a warrior. But what you said is the god honest truth. If hes got the flu as bad as they say (i have no reason to question it because he played with a ****ing bone chip in his ankle, a blood clot, etc) its hard to walk from ur bed to the tiolet and back without getting woozy. let alone play the fast paced sport of hockey. Sometimes a bad case of the flu takes some time to get over. I had it last year and missed a week of work. Iuno some people cant be happy i suppose. lol.

Id rather bring briere back, and call up one of our 2 way guys for tonight.

My roommate has the flu and he's been puking all week (pretty disgusting). I don't blame Kimmo at all, the flu sucks.

You're next. That is an airborn virus in most cases.

Haha thanks tytech.

I actually don't really get sick and he left for the weekend, so I'm hoping I'll miss it.

I've never had extended illness though, had a 24 hr bug once or twice in high school, but that's about it.

glen macnow on wip said the league is watching the flyers very closely over the briere situation. apparently if hes healthy he has to be on the roster whcih would put the flyers over the cap. should be an interestng day to watch.

I assume you're being sarcastic, but Richards was out for 3 games as well earlier this month.

Cold and flu are two very different things jackass. Cold is some snot and a headache. Flu is that plus joint aches, fevers, and any other number of things. Especially a flu that is strong enough to have been going around the locker room for A MONTH.

So will they like poke Briere's groin to see if it's better? Can he fake pain at all?

Damn, all my friends have been sick though fairly recently and I haven't gotten anything. I'll just have to hope my superior immune system can do the job again.

what IS the penalty if we go over the cap? that's the part of this i haven't understood. if it's a fine, ok, so the flyers pay it today and trade someone tomorrow. unless it's something ridiculous that we can't afford.

I realize kuks isn't a bad option, but do we have anyone on the phantoms who could get a look-see on D tonight, so briere plays and we're in the clear? Or are all of our AHL Dmen going to be a problem if their salary transfers?

I believe we forfeit every game until we get under again.

So it's kind of serious.
