Burrows won't be traded. He's currently working on a contract extension with the Canucks, likely to be in the $2M range. He wants to stay in Vancouver and he fully expects to be here next season.

If Gillis could some how convince Burke that was even remotely fair I think Burke's the one that needs to watch his head...no Gillis...

From a team chemistry standpoint rather than raw value, I certainly wouldn't trade Burrows straight up for Kaberle.

I think the Canucks definitely needs a puck mover though. Burrows, I understand is a fan favorite and good team mate, but hey you have to give to get.

Burrows is definitely UFA. I don't know the exact reason for his being exempt from RFA status, but I'm sure it has something to do with his age (he turns 28 in April) and the fact that he was undrafted.
