No deal.
Esposito is worth more than Tangradi. Armstrong and Christensen at the time had a fair bit of value.

Armstrong is who is a third line player at worst in the NHL and has been for 2 years, Christenson who was a solid player for Pitt last year, Espo who was the pens first round pick and a first round pick is as valuable as Tangradi and a first? Forgive me if i do not see the logic in that. Your first round pick is going to be 10 spots ahead this year in a deep draft so that is a wash at best. Pretty much comparing Tangradi to Armstron who is a legitiment nhl'er. Espo who was picked in the first round and was probably one of your top 2 or 3 prospects and Christenson who had a spot night in night out in the pens line up. Tangradi is now your second best prospect pretty much the same as espo was and then theres the fact of the 2 nhlers who have been around and played in the league. Sure Antropov and Van Ryan is no Hossa but your statement was ridicoulous

Don't know if this has been posted, but Shero said today on the radio that he got multiple calls for Tangradi today and said he will not move him.

@grabo84
Tangradi>Esposito as far as value right now because of the injury.

He's very important to the Pens as well because he's a big power forward type. That's what the Pens value the most right now. They had offers for Caputi last year at the deadline but wouldn't move him. They elected to move Esposito instead, who is a better prospect, but not for our organization.

come on burke land tangradi in a trade, he is going to be a good power forward, the leafs need someone to get the garbage goals in front of the net, not since big dave in the early 90's , have the leafs had someone that could do that. also would like the leafs to land colborn from boston, another good power forward.....

You're probably right, I should have said Esposito at the time of the trade was worth more than Tangradi is now.

Ok, let me rephrase.

The difference between Hossa/Dupuis and Antropov/Van Ryan is much greater than the difference between Army/Christensen/Espo/1st and Tangradi/1st.

Thats up for debate. Esposito was considered higher on draft day, and i like Espo, but if i had to choose i'd pick Tangradi. Espo has a higher potential range, but Tangradi is tearing up the OHL in ways that Esposito never has been able to do in the Q. Tangradi is also better defensively, bigger, and more physical. Espo's value last year was very low he had been cut for the 3rd straight year from team canada and wasn't producing like a 1st round pick. Armstrong was the key to the deal.
